Gateaux definitely,especially black-forest or chocolate. I do like trifle if it's a sherry one.(Cheap way of getting a survey done so you can sort the menus of your pubs,whats next starters? or did I miss that one!)

I adore Trifle, I can eat this day or night!! And I am often found in the fridge in the middle of the night eating trifle. Prefer this to gateau..

Trifle, especially my mother in laws sherry trifle. She puts so much sherry into it that you can get half canned just smelling it alone. Perfect end to a meal.
