Which phrase do you like "Spare any change please" or "Next patient please"? Ones a sit down all day in wee smelling jeans job with no prospects other than progressing to harder drugs and tins of Extra strong booze. The other is a long term career that will take you far, but for which you'll need to start pulling your socks up now and start getting your life together! Listen to your brother, or the years will slip away and it will be a case of coulda, shoulda, woulda!

Psychology is a way too complex subject for someone with your immaturity and intellect while you're on marijuana. When you smoke weed you wonder and analyze everything instead of actually doing anything. That could be why you want to study psychology.

Your brother is probably older than you, more mature and more experienced in life. Your best friend knows as much as you do if not less. Why listen to someone that doesn't know what he's talking about if you could listen to someone that knows better?

And by-the-way, psychology = reading minds ??? Grow up kid - the weed is ******* with you!!! Believe me - I know.

As a reformed marijuana smoker I recommend that you don't smoke it, but if you do do it in moderation. It is true that you can have insights you normally wouldn't have when high, but they are not worth the detrimental effects on your motivation and mental state in general. I can't see it helping you to read minds, probably just make you think you can and you could become paranoid. Good luck with the psychology.

Depends on which type of marijuana you smoke to wither it makes you lazy.Iv smoked grass & solid for many years. Many types i currently smoke a skunk/haze hybrid its not a gouch smoke but a heavy high zippy type weed.As to wither it will help you in psychology is a diffrent matter. Many people smoke weed i can bet a good few smoke with mental illness of that i have no doubt. It wont help you read minds but it might allow for a sympathetic even a i know how you feel type view of your patiant. That can be very helpful when your talking to someone.

I would say that your head is totally mixed up and the LAST thing you should be doing is smoking marijuana.

Also I would like to point out that you are very young and too easily influenced by other people's opinions.

Marijuana is for dead beats, if you want to study psychology you shouldn't use it. Don't forget that drug users will always try to drag you down to THEIR level. Maybe one day you wil be a psychologist and you will have some new friends. But a brother is always a brother.

Psychology dosn't help you to read minds. It gives you a deeper insight into how people function and what makes them tick. He is right that you shouldn't smoke cannabis it will just make you lazy. Good luck for next year psychology is fascinating.

Genetically, you've only got a 1 in 3 chance of the ganja not screwing your head up, and even if it doesn't screw your head up it definately makes you dopey and slower for upto 4 weeks after a smoke (trust me i've only recently given it up).

if you want to read minds you need to be sharp and on the ball, covering all angles and possibilities in your brain, and that just aint possible when you smoke weed

To study anything properly you need a clear head and a sharp mind - I'd knock the puff on the head x

I would say your brother is wrong - psychology doesn't enable you to 'read minds'.

If you intend to study, get into the habit of researching your own answers...you're on the internet - the research is there waiting for you to read. :)

reading minds is for psychics not psychologists. Either way, I know that pot will only make your motivation level so low that the likelyhood that you will be a drop-out is very high.
I know this after seeing too many pot smokers struggle through life aimlessly.
