Think about It: Whether you believe in God or Not, Christian principles state:

Love your enemies
Do good to those who persecute you
etc. etc. check out the Bible for further details

is Bush an example of hypocrisy?? If so, can you really blame people for becoming athiests when they see hypocritical Christians/religious people who dont even follow the same principles that they seek to impose upon others?

Not a bush fan, but the media tells us some of what he does, and their interpretation of his actions. We then take what the media has shared, their interpretation of what he has done, and our own opinion of him and what should really be happening and form a conclusion based on those things.

In short, what I am saying is that we don't really know what his intentions are or why he has made the decisions that he has. (But I have to admit it's hard to not question his intelligence sometimes).

No he isn't an exemplary Christian. He has said many things in the press to appease the masses that are contrary to true Christianity. He has said that there are more paths to God than through Christ.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There are other examples as well. I think most of it is done because he can't "offend" anyone as President but it is sad to see a professing Christian make such statements. I will say he has been good about professing his faith to others but I think he has compromised more than he should to keep the peace with non-Christians. It has to be extraordinarily tough to be a Christian President in this day of political correctness.

No Christian is perfect, Bush included.

Name one time Bush has tried to impose Christianity on people...

I know some athiests who are complete pricks. Is this the reason I am a Christian? No. Just because you see a bad example of Christianity, it shouldn't make you turn away from it.

Yes you can blame athiests for not believing. Just because a so called Christian doesn't act right doesn't make Jesus wrong. The point is, what does the Bible say.

Bush is not a Christian anyway. One great fact is that he lied about his membership in Skull and Bones while he was governor of Texas. He only says he is Christian so the non discerning Christian Republicans will support him.

I have seen first hand how Christians interpret the bible to fit their needs. If they want to forgive their enemies, then they quote that part of the bible. If they want to attack their enemies, then they find the part where it says to attack the non believers or so. This is why I hate the way religion (all religions) is used to justify actions. It has become the ultimate excuse: "I am a good Christian and it was God's will" - or something like it.

Bush has brought shame on us all and should be run through the accountability process in Mat 18. Then he needs to just tell everyone he was lieing about being a christian or change his ways and apologize or be ex comunicated..

more effective harshly? How old were you even as Clinton became Pres? those "attacks" are about an same, they are in basic terms for various motives. you may want to study up on the attacks some made on George Washington and Abraham Lincoln... i believe they made comments about Lincoln's own existence besides, even as he became Pres. everyone in Politics is open to those attacks... and they'll maximum in all chance be remembered for the undesirable issues they did. It does not count number in the adventure that they kept the completed international from destruction... in the adventure that they were given a BJ contained in the White abode, they are airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust. *wink*

As an unbeliever, I would NEVER insult decent Christians calling Bush an exemplary Christian.

Bush is what is known as a politcal Christian. It suited his purpose to portray himself as born again, as his party is backed by Fundemental Christians. People need to realize that politicians WILL LIE ABOUT RELIGION TO GET VOTES. Really...they will. Bush sucks.

That is a hard one to answer. Most Fundamentalists, Apostolic-Pentecostal, Catholics, and members of AA claim that he is one of their belief. He has never actually said. Who knows? I mean, look at Reagan. He was able to say that he was a 'born again' christian, without actually saying that he excepted JC as personal savior, Then we found out that he and Nancy consulted with psychics and astrologers.
