Forget the animal shelters. I tried that for 3 months and no go. Only big dogs! Hardly ever any small dogs and theyre snapped up immediately. A rescue group would be good. Give a poor little homeless chihuahua a good loving home.

Contact your local animal shelter! They frequently have dogs of just about any breed you can name available for adoption, and if they don't have a chihuahua right now they can tell you if there's a breed rescue group in your area for chihuahuas.

Try your local newspaper, shelters but NOT the internet. If there is a good ad on the internet that seems too good to be true it probably is!
There are many scammers out there and small dogs are their favorite bait.

Check out your local shelter, In fact, you can leave a request at several. Ours gets in very nice small purebred dogs and also takes in ones from other shelters (where they euthanize - ours is a no-kill). Try there first before you go to a pet shop or breeder.
