of the questions and came across a couple of answers that were interesting to me.
I want to know how many of you would find your mate unattractive if they put on weight?
Would it be a deal breaker?
Why? Because you are shallow, for health reasons, or something else?
I am in shape and I don't give a damn about someone being heavy.

s_d_honey,
I get some of what you are saying but... Whose to say that larger people aren't good looking. Some people actually prefer a larger type body.

ern_linne,
I respect your honesty and you are right in that only the physical attraction would change for you as we are attracted to certain things.
Then again, your attraction could change.

s_d_honey, I wanted to email you but was unable as no email is posted so.........
I like some of the things that you had to say but the " good looking" part and the fact that depression is an issue for "them" I disagree with. When you fall in love with someone, especially if your married you agree to be there for them through anything. Even in bf/gf relationships we have times of sadness and depression. The person that we fall for will not always be happy, this is unrealistic. Everyone goes through troubles. It is more about a persons own self image being "flawed" by another. This is what I get out of your paragraph. Just my opinion.

I keep getting the same type of comment.
Relating attractive to thin.
Does anyone think that larger people might be attractive being just as they are?

i find most that are hot usually want the same to help their own ego's or to make themselves look better. many people will get a health problem that can make them gain weight by the meds. it doesn't change who they are and were. there would be so much more happy relationships if they we not into hot bods all the time and looked at the person. i've known a few women who gained weight for either medical or children. the husbands left or boyfriends and only to have them not only lose the weight later but lost more and were hotter than before. the guys then wanted back of course. just as in people. the ugly duckling can turn into a swan.

I think the more weight she put on, the less attracted I would be. Not because I'm shallow, just because it's human nature to find some things attractive and others unattractive. It would only affect my physical attraction, though. To me at least, physical and mental attractions are independent of each other. It absolutely would not be a deal breaker, as long as I still like her personality, but I would be a little less physically attracted.

No. He actually has put on weight, thank goodness. He was only 132 when I net him.
Absolutely not. Even if he got REALLY fat.
Because I like big squishy guys, but I'm madly in love with him. Though I'd do anything I could to support him if he wanted to take up a health plan.
I'm fat, but healthy, and never expected to hook up with a skinny guy. He's actually almost the exact opposite body type I usually go for, and I've got almost 100 lbs on him. This one really blindsided me, he's wonderful. I do all the heavy lifting, he does the programming.

Thats easy to say but for one when you first meet some one you are attacted to them for (A) looks and (B) their personality, both of these contribute to the way they make you feel. So if it feels good to have a good lookin person by yourside and they change that then that becom difficult to deal with. but it can be tolerable if that person is still holdin it down with confidence and the ability to be happy wihthemselve and make you happy. Now the other thing to take into account is that when a person makes a change in themselves, such as a big weight gain if they dont know how to deal with it and accept it they can becoem depressed and insecure. That can become difficult to deal with because they are no longer the happy person you initially fell in love with. So in some cases its shallow, i'm sure, but in other cases it is more than that.

i dont mind a porker once in a while. they are always alot more grateful in the bed and a hell of alot more comfy to be ontop of. its when they climb on that the trouble starts. but hell, you have to take the good with the bad. as long as i can still breath, its all good for me.
