I've read all the arguments about how illegal immigration is a crime just like rape and murder and theft. It IS a crime defined by our human law but it is NOT a crime defined by God's law. The other crimes mentioned above are included under the "thou shalt not's" of the Ten Commandments. I cannot find anywhere in the Bible where God opposes illegal immigration. In fact there are several places where God tells people to GO TAKE THE LAND! Joshua marched around the walled city of Jerico (hmmm...still wanting to build that WALL?) for seven days and simply by blowing his trumpet the walls fell and they took over the city. The Israelites who wandered in the desert for 40 years, God told them to go take the land of the Palestinians. They disobeyed and there has been civil unrest & war in the Mid East ever since.

I have been called a "bleeding-heart liberal" in this forum for my stance on illegal immigration. So how would all you Christian conservatives (of which I am 1) answer this?

God created the earth, man created artificial boundaries and claimed the earth for himself. God opposes criminalizing people for simply trying to work and live. Man claims the bounty of the earth for himself and selfishly denies it to his brothers. It's really shameful.

Right now it is the Democrats that want the cheap and healthy labor pool (to union bust and lower wages as you said), as well as getting a huge bloc of new, faithful voters. That is why the Democrats passed Obamacare. To give the 12 million (someday) newly minted Mexican-Americans free health care the day they are given amnesty and citizenship as a reward for violating our borders and breaking our laws. Then 10 or 20 million more Mexicans will cross the border to get our safety, security, and benefits for free while waiting around to get the same bonus their friends and relatives got. All we need to do now is kill more stupid Americans in Iraq to clear up space and jobs for the border hoppers; and watch while California goes so deep in the red it will fall off into the ocean.

In the bible it states to be kind to the alien which meant a person from another country. Don't know exactly where but I am positive it is in there because we had a discussion about this at my church. It is not a crime against God's law. The US just wants their cut, if you know what I mean and they have every right if you want to live in this country...

God's laws do not apply to any government laws.

This is just another excuse to disobey the law. The bible is located in the "fiction" center of the library. Does that tell you anything?

GO TAKE THE LAND you say. This is a hypocritical statement of christianity excusing wars.

You are telling a story made up by man, not God.

I can find anything in the bible saying anything is a sin and then saying anything is forgiven. I can find a lot of pro war statements then "thou shalt not kill"- does that mean except in war?

Go to the R & S site and quote the bible.

I will answer this with a statement: GOD didn't like divorce, but Jesus said GOD gave it to them because he knew the weakness of men.

God is fairly clear on obedience. Breaking the law is breaking the commandment to be honest. Specific instructions by God to His followers in times of war do not apply to the general population.

yep, I agree. And this time Immigrants are not taking the land, they are just doing their business.

Plus, who wouldn't migrate if you had nothing to eat and had a next-door neighbor country where things seem to be better. If India, China, SIngapore or whatever country had been located where Mexico is, the same thing would be happening.

Here in the U.S. we have to understand that this is one of the few rich countries in the world. Poverty is not just a problem of Mexico that is not doing what it is supposed to, it is the entire's planet problem.
