I'm wondering if physics could be considered prophets and/or if there is a difference. (consider 1st Corinthians 13).

Everything human beings have is a gift from God.
Our ability to talk, to play the piano, to have good
business acumen, etc. etc. is a gift from God.
But there are some who are more gifted than others
and prophecy is one of them. Some who have it
takes it as a blessing but some call it a curse.
It's not easy to meet someone and have a vision
of that person dying & having to make the decision
whether or not to disclose this prophecy to the
person concerned. Tough job!

You write, from a Christian perspective, does this mean you are a Christian? The reason I ask is, Prophecy is a gift given us by and through the Holy Spirit of God.

God is Supernatural and God.

Most psychics are in a relationship with familiar spirits. Evil spirits. This is something that is expressly forbidden for Christians to do.

When you sit down each day to read the Word of God, ask the Father to send you His Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ. This is something Our Father wants to do in a big way. Remember, God loves you so very much and wants you to have the knowledge and wisdom so you too can be a true child of God and be useful to Him.><>

Prophecy is supernatural knowledge, and can be from God, or in the case of false prophecy (psychics), from the Devil. Believing Christians can prophesy to each other, if they are taught the right way to approach it: I have seen it done, prophecies fulfilled and displays of supernatural knowledge.

As for being a gift from God: It isn't in the way that, say, exceptional talent at playing an instrument would be; but a gift of the Spirit that is given especially to some believers-- giving them exceptional talent at prophesying.

I think you will find that religions, and especially fanatical religions, tend to separate and divide people, whiles spirituality brings people together. Please don’t confuse religion for Spirituality!

Thank God that Spirituality is on the increase!

For those who are ready, no explanation is necessary and for those who are not, no explanation is possible!

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense. The Psychic Sense.

there is a difference. Psychics are of the dark one, even they, for the most part do not know the devil is using them for evil.
Prophets are of God. You can tell the difference in the results of the prophecy. If it is half-truths or lies it is psychic. If it is all true it is a prophet.

Prophecy is a gift from God. I would challenge anyone to find a true prophet in todays world.

Today's "prophets" make thousands of predictions and when a few of those come true, they are labeled psychic. If you are truly a Prophet, then every prediction you make comes true.

Both the 12th and 14th Book of First Corinthians discuss the gifts of God and namely the gift of prophecy.

Yes there is a differnce A man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to Preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
Others just have gifts of god.

Physics? Is a form a science. Do NOT mix science and religion. Ever. Either religion loses, or the science is poisoned and you get unreliable results.

You mean Psychics? Like Psychic phenomena?

What's the difference to a Christian, anyway?

Prophets speak the word of God and exist only to do his will. Prophets have to be unusually close to god so that through them his power and love will be glorified. Physics speak to the dead and to demons, for their power comes from an evil spirit, not from the spirit of God.
It is a gift but with great responsibility, but to prophesy is such a gift to the church and mankind.
