Yes but their argument will be that it was built by LEGAL WHITE immigrants. I don't know how they substantiate this argument considering the earliest white settlers had no visas, no documentation, no health checks before traipsing in and forcing the Native Americans OFF of their own land. They also brought with them disease. That's an argument Americans like to try to use too. That illegal immigrants could have diseases. Also, they have no idea how HARD it is to get a visa to come here. Good luck convincing this crowd!

A vast majority of Americans do understand the circumstances that lead people to coming to America illegally. I think that the real reason people get heated over the idea is because when people come here illegally they do not pay taxes, which is a big thing in America. Every legal American is paying outrageous taxes and the idea of anyone slipping though is hard to not get angry over. Of course in a perfect world immigrating to America would not be hard and finding jobs would be a snap, but it's not.

Another point to make, is that when a sick person goes to the ER they are automatically taken and if they can not pay then it falls on the government to pick up the slack. Now I am not accusing you of cheating the system, however it is prevalent in border towns such as El Paso and Laredo. So not only are we as citizens paying to take care of people who are here illegally we are also accepting anyone who can make it over the border.

Now as an illegal immigrant you must see the very large decline in illegal immigrating. The government is not taking it anymore and deporting found persons to the very bottom of Mexico deep in the middle of nowhere. Is this right? Maybe, maybe not. Only the elections will decide the fate of a person such as yourself. Everyone reading. Please go out and vote, no matter what you support, VOTE!

This country was built by LEGAL immigrants like my grandparents, who scrimped and saved to come here legally, who learned the language and customs of their neighbors while contributing some of their own. They bought land and worked it creating jobs. Notice I did NOT say legal WHITE immigrants, but legal immigrants of all races and creeds. The homeless rates in this country are skyrocketing because jobs are scarce. I keep hearing about how the illegals are the only ones who will work the minimum wage jobs, but my husband was unemployed for two years and went insane watching us go hungry and in danger of losing our apartment because he couldn't even get a minimum wage job because the illegals are hired first. They don't expect a living wage so the minimums stay too low for a small family to survive. The social services are strained past the breaking point because the illegals come in and apply for help and make it harder for American families to get the help they need. Shall I go on? I have nothing against immigrants of any race or origin as they follow the law and are here to contribute to the good of society. Illegals are only here to take from it.

Hello Ignorant! Your name certainly fits. When you come here illegally you take from all of us Americans. You suck our economy dry and raise prices on everything that we have, from what I have seen you have tons of children then go get food stamps, like we should have to pay for your children! We have to pay for our children and you as a father should do the same. Everything is handed to you in the United States and most of us will not tolerate it anymore. To answer your second question-Yes this country was built by immigrants-legal ones. The Mexican population, just seems to just want to sneak in, I am not sure if you are just being inconsiderate or just plain lazy. As for the living in poverty thing-many US children live in poverty too, but they find it difficult to get help because most of the funds go to illegals! Why don't you go through the proper channels to be an American citizen-Most of you don't want to be a citizen of this country, you just want the free things that are provided for you, why don't you try making some changes in your own country, and start providing for your children!

All American's are immigrants. Some of my family came from Germany and others came from Ireland and Scotland. BUT THEY ALL CAME HERE LEGALLY!!!!!! They came here to find a better way of life for their families.

Why do you not become legal? The reason some people feel so entitled to the prosperity in this country is because they have worked hard for what they have. AND THEY DID IT LEGALLY!

No most other people go the legal way , and why do mexicans not devellop there own country ,it has far better natural resources, the climate is better ,their families are there ,instead whole mountain villages are deserted ,some are with out men ,50 % of the students in my town head for the USA,and Mexico is going to pieces ,why not work at home and turn a great country into a succesful one instead of letting it become a basurero with borachos who are consuming their natural resources like soldiers ants instead of utilising and taking care of it,that is much more irational ,the poverty is a result of lack of imagination, coruptness, lazyness and greed, the fault lies with the publics character ,not with the Country as such

Why don't you just come here legally or go to a more prosperous city in Mexico?

We don't mind legal immigrants but we should not have to pay for illegals.

Would you want part of your income going for people who came to your country and did so by not obeying laws? It is the same as paying a criminal to commit a crime. Technically that is illegal also. So you force all of us to commit a crime.

Its simple, there is a reason y they call it illegal immigration!!! Its not complicated, just like other things in life, there are right ways to do things and the wrong. Unfortunately, the united states gov. are hiring illegals themselves and its costing us citizens jobs. This isnt just a question about illegal and legal, this can effect everything in your life right now! From your home, to your job, the environment we live in and so forth. In california alone, tax payers pay up to *10.5 billion dollars per year to support illegals for education, health and so forth. However, in the end, ppl arent going to vote in this country, the same politians are going to be voted back into office and keep on supporting illegals until we become apart of mexico.

No, you don't have the right to say I would do the same thing. I don't believe I would. Don't talk to me about "starving kids" back home - I wouldn't have had them, in the first place, if I didn't have the means to support them. My biggest objection to the illegal immigrants is their "me, me, me, take, take, take" attitude and that they want to have our social benefits and freedoms, but they don't want to pay for them by way of taxes. Why should the rest of us pay taxes to support you using our social benefits, hospitals, schools, roads, etc.? And, I am so sick of hearing the crap about the USA having been built by immigrants, etc. That was then, this is now and the USA still enjoys immigrants, but LEGAL immigrants are contributing members of our society while ILLEGAL immigrants are NOT contributing members of our society. Get legal or GET OUT!

Mija, I am hispanic and I know what it's like in Mexico how the government doesn't take care of its people and believe me I would want to get out of poverty but it is not right to come into another country without the legal papers necessary. The U.S. has a system. I can tell you how to get legalized fast though. I am sorry you are not Cuban. All those Cubans, all they have to do is step on US soil and they are sanctioned and can stay in the US.

I'm only upset for people that come to America illegally because most immigrants don't pay taxes and that's just not fair. If you want to be an American citizen you need to be one the right way. We already have problems with how many that come in illegally, and it's not that hard to get in legaly I know many of my friends parents that did it.

It's also not safe the way most people do it, I live in Texas and so many of them will die or get raped and pregnant on the way over the border and it's horrible. And with the people that work under wages, it's hard for people to get jobs because people are doing it illegaly and so how are other people suppost to get jobs? It just brings everything down.

Just do things the right way. No problems.
