What kind of stupid question is that?

Leave the poor dog alone - he's not a toy for you to play with.

What sort of ball do you use to play with a yorkie? A golf ball? A marble?

If you wanna play then wake him up...toss the ball at him and he'll be startled and ready! He is just a dog and you are the human....the master....rule him as you should....if he doesn't like it then don't feed him tomorrow.....he'll learn that when you wanna play ball he'd better be awake and ready

It's bad to repeatedly wake your dog up. With as late at night it is, he's going to be up a lot longer if you wake him up so you should be prepared for that. Not only that but he will end up being thirsty afterwords which means he will drink and need to go out later after that. Just a few words. I love watching dogs sleep. There's something amazing about watching their chest rise and fall, feeling their warm bodies, and breathing their wonderful doggy scent. Why not curl up next to him on the floor and just enjoy his company?

If i wake my dog up and throw a ball it would either go for it then lay down next to it or just get pissed at me.

My first impulse is to say "Sure!", but my second one is to wonder if waking him up in the middle of the night might not get him off his schedule so that he'd start waking you up then.

it totally depends on if he has to work in the morning...
then let him sleep!
but if he's retired or unemployed, and he can sleep all day, then go wake him up ...
he's probably bored when you not there so....
