no, back in the 50's they became endagered due to the emergence of the prototype "rebel/bad boy" and of course by the end of the 60's hippies infested the country, because soon hippies and nice guys were considered one and the same, this really pissed off the nice guys (cause everyone hates hippies) so they said "screw it, lets kick the crap out of them, that way we'll be bad boys"
