the same reason why girls flirt with other men when taken.
just a little fun, innocent and non inviting. noninviting is the key word, many people can mistaken a flirt with an invite and that can turn ugly!!!

taken as in married? taken as in they have a girlfriend. If they are married they are a dog and if they have a girlfriend they are just making sure there is not someone better to suit their personality. The time to check it out is before you are married and I think you should date a year or two before you get married so you really have time to get to know them

it's definatly a way to boost their male ego, or they might b missing something in their relationship that they're looking for elsewhere. Some guys just enjoy the thrill of feeling like their wanted.

Why? Because she is pretty? Because she is flirting as well? I don't think there is one exact answer. Guys aren't the only ones that do it either, there is no exact answer.
Althought I guess the answer you'd like is because men are assholes.

By "taken" do you mean married ? Or dating ? Because if they are dating they are not "taken."

Its all the male ego. They gotta always feel like they hott. Its innocent...girls do it too. They get two forms of pleasure. (1) they still got girls who wanna holla (2) they get you jealous and make you work harder to make them happy which shows that uo really care. (In their eyes anyway)

I think it is part of their genetic make up???? and some girls do too...................it is fun to flirt when both parties know it is nothing but that. and flirting is harmless as long as it goes no further, and you have to have faith in each other
