I mean, please! 4,000 innocent American citizens are murdered every year by illegal aliens, another 150,000+ (estimated) are robbed. Billions of dollars in our tax money is lost to social assistance and law enforcement, why should we accept this crap! Almost every other country in the world vigorously protects and defends their borders, why should we be different??

should we just pay more taxes and attend more funerals with a smile on our face?

The only good reason would be if our borders were respected, no illegal immigration trespassed through it and if no threats to our security existed. Fat chance on any of these things happening, so build away.

1. My SO is an alien, albeit a legal one(he's british). I've been with him to the INS and with all those hoops, I'm amazed anyone is here LEGALLY. If we reform the INS -or whatever they're calling it nowadays- to streamline the process and spend the money meant for a wall on reform and aid for Mexico, we wouldn't have to worry about it.

2. A wall wouldn't work: People will come up here legally and stay, thats how most end up here. A wall does NO good. The Great Wall didn't stop the mongols, don't we learn ANYTHING from history?

3. The aid thing is BS. You need a social security number, proof of previous employment and an address to get welfare checks. Illegal aliens are missing at least two of those.

4. If people didn't HIRE illegals, they wouldn't be WORKING here. We're also losing a lot of jobs to outsourcing -which they'd do if possible and didn;t have access to cheap labor. Lets solve our own problems first and pressure business owners to hire americans, and help them compete with foreign markets. Do your research, buy American, and not from people who hire illegals.

5. A wall goes two ways. This country has done an amazing job of pissing off the rest of the world. If they can't get in, you can bet that we're going to have a problem getting out.

6. A drop in the bucket, but wildlife: The wall will divide up natural territories and make certain species extinct on either side of the border.

7. International travellers can be assured of VERY bad treatment by South and central Americans, and believe it or not, there's a LOT of business partnerships and agriculture we depend on down there(Coffee & soybeans, for instance). Brazil has already implemented an "American line" at the airport, they don't need additional security, they just want to be sure we suffer the same humiliation as they do when they come up here legally.

8. Most countries DON'T wall off their borders. North Korea is one of the only ones.
Wow, I really don't need any more similarities with them.
Why don't we try and learn from other first world countries that HAVEN'T built a wall between them & their poorer neighbors.

9. "Bring me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses..." This goes against EVERYTHING America stood for. If we're going to get sh1tty with Mexico, the Native Americans have the right to get sh1tty with us.

Nope - build the wall! To those who say it won't do any good because they will still find other ways to come, sobeit! However, the wall will at least help stem the flow somewhat and make it easier to catch those who do decide to come. Combine the wall with enforcing the laws we already have against employers who hire illegals and anyone who aids and abets them and cut off ALL social benefits to illegals and detain and deport ALL illegals as they are located, and I believe the combination of these things will go a long way towards reducing the problem.

A wall is a lazy and idiotic solution to an on going problem that needs to be adressed with policies not a wall please give me a break when the U.S. stole Tejas from Mexico there was no border people came and went and they pleased and those 4000 "innocent" American citizens so called killed by illegal aliens-you left no source for this this statistic-it does not compare to the thousands of braceros U.S. busniesses illegally deport from Mexico so they can work for you to have fruits and vegetables cheap. Not to mention the maquiladoras that U.S. businesses exploit in Mexico. The U.S. tries to the the Mexican economy by making money off them?I know Mexico corrupt but are we doing anythin about it? American loves its cheap labor. We should be different because we care about money and Mexico's cheap labor helps our economy.

There is a reason. It will simply not be usefull. Really. A wall will not stop illegal immigration. There a thousands of ways in which an immigrant can get inside USA. The wall is simply a political tool, an ilusion to make you feel more protected. By the way, with the exception of a couple others, USA has the hardest anti immigration policies. So, they better use the money they will spend on the wall and invest it in better education programs.

the only countries i can think of that build huge walls to "protect" their populace are communist dictatorships ... and generally it works to keep the population from escaping more than it keeps people out ... getting rid of all the illegals in this country would not change any of the crime figures even 1 % and would not effect your income or level of taxation even 1 dollar ... your barking up the wrong tree thinking you can transform america by going after a group of people even if they are "illegal" aliens .... there are many grave issues that we could fix in this country that would make a difference but building a wall is not one of them ... it just fits right in there with all the other police-state measures that have been put in place over the past severl years perfectly though ...

True, it's funny, we let a lot of foreigners into our country, and i know ALOT of them that talk **** about us all the time, we're lazy, we're stupid, we're ignorant (unfortunately a good number of these comments are true for many, but still) and then normally you'd stay AWAY from a place with such negative aspects..but nooo they go and use the **** out of our education and job resources n stuff....typical. Anyway, we let them in right, but when WE try to go into their country..god forbid we be illegal, they'd put so many damn burritos up our *** it's not even funny.
Now as far as putting numbers to american citizens getting killed or robbed, it ain't just the mexicans doing that....there's a ALOT of assholes who cause american deaths. It's more the principle of them coming in like they can just take things freely. I mean damn we can't go into any country freely without goin through a bunch of bs....what the hell gives you the right to just barge in like it's nothing?
I think the real issue is just the REAL americans here though, they don't take advantage of what they have....and let the more motivated and ambitious foreigners take over the big businesses and little jobs that we COULD have if we actually cared.
You can't complain about people coming in and taking over your jobs n stuff and you didn't do **** in the first place to get it. If you leave a job needed to be done alone SOMEBODY is gonna pick up your slack. I mean most of the illlegals are your janitors, and dirty job workers that most americans think they're too good to do, and then most big business owners have foreign employers because they know they'll actually work harder and take more time to do the job right rather than just get their own piece of the pie the lazy way or they just care more about their job than we do. It ain't the fault of the damn illegals **** is ****** up here. It's more about the people here who have nothing better to do than to complain and ***** about war, and immigrants, and not DOING ANYTHING to change it like being more motivated to take in jobs, get themselves in a better position to SUPPORT their damn bitching and moaning, rather than being some broke *** fool who's not worth a damn, bitching and moaning. You should always have a solution to a problem, even if it ain't a good one, otherwise the problem is always gonna be just that.....a problem.

No, hurry and build the wall. Then everything will be beautiful in America. I won't have to lock my doors anymore, I can go anywhere I please and everyone will greet me with a smile and ask how I'm doing. My dog will stop chasing the cat. Politicians will always tell the truth. There will be no wars... The wall is the answer to all our problems. Why didn't we think of it sooner?!

Illegal aliens actually commit fewer crimes statistically than their numbers in the US population would predict. It would be stupid to build a wall, a real waste of time and money. Why don't you direct your anger at our government looking the other way at employers who hire illegals, thus keeping this system in place?

NO! Build the wall and they won't come, I hope. Illegals should be stopped before they break our nation. If you weren't given permission to come to this country by the US Government, then GO HOME!
ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL.
