Can I just go to a Catholic church to experience it without becoming a member, or do I have to become a member to experience being part of the Catholic church? And, if so, how would I go about becoming Catholic?

Yes, you may visit a church to experience it without becoming a Catholic. Welcome!

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

With love and prayers in Christ.

They have classes. Go to a church or phone one up and ask about their courses on becoming a Catholic.

You cannot fully expirience the Catholic church just by attending because if you do not belong to the church you cannot celebrate the Sacraments. If you want to join the Catholic church you must take instructions in the faith. It takes several months to complete the process (almost a year). You can call your local Catholic church and inquire about their RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. They will be more than happy to help you.

God bless!!!

Any person my attend mass and worship God. However, one must be a Catholic, with a few exceptions, such as Eastern Orthodox, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, and Episcopalians/Anglicans may recieve the Eucharist. To become Catholic, speak to the local priest and ask about RCIA, which is the Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults.

The church is open to everyone. You can try-before-you-buy lol so to speak. Most will have notice boards out the front of the church informing everyone of when the services are happening. If it is something you wish to look further into, have a chat to your local priest, he will be more than happy to welcome you into the congregation and guide you towards becoming a catholic.

BECOMING A CATHOLIC IS ONE OF THE MOST SERIOUS STEPS OF YOUR LIFE Becoming a Catholic is one of the most serious steps of your life. Before Baptism, in the presence ofJesus Christ in the parish Church, you take a Profession of Faith under oath. In the Profession of Faith you reject all false religious beliefs, and you swear that you believe everything the Catholic Church believes, principally everything you have been taught in this course of instructions. You swear to keep the Catholic faith until the last breath of your life and to strive that those under you shall be taught and shall profess the same Catholic faith.
In the Profession of Faith you place yourself under the authority of the Catholic Church in all matters of religion. You accept the Pope as the true successor ofSt Peter and swear true obedience to Our Holy Father. You bind yourself to all the laws of the Catholic Church, for example, the laws of fast and abstinence, and the law of attendance at Mass on Sunday.

You have to attend a special class for a year. Then you have to be baptized in the church with a Catholic representative.
Call the church and they will give you information on the class (which is called RCIA) and what it all involves.

Yes, you can go to any Catholic mass you wish. The Church always welcomes newcomers.

If your serious about becoming a member I recommend that you first get familiar with what they teach. Everything which they teach can be found in the link below in their Catechism. Enjoy and God Bless!

The Church lets anyone to the church who wishes to believe what we believe. You don't have to "join" anything or become a member, ti isn't a club. But please know that believing in God and Jesus is more than just going to church and reading Bible, it is your actions as well, which is what the Church teaches.
