GSP is the real deal. Fast, strong, aggressive. He is at the top of his game. Hughes is an absolute warrior who never gives in and always finds a way to win. Who will win and why?

He's got a great chance to beat Matt Hughes. Very strong and fast and skilled fighter. he's one of my favourites. I'd pick him to win.

Anyone who doesn't know, don't look at the records. Just look at the last fight between GSP and Hughes. It's basically going to be a repeat. How many times have you seen GSP on his back (because of a takedown, and not the Serra pummeling) since UFC 50? Once, off a reversal, and Koscheck did nothing. Everyone talks about Chuck's sprawl, but GSP doesn't go down unless he sweeps you and puts you on your back, just ask Frank Trigg. St. Pierre and Hughes are the two greatest welterweights ever, but Hughes is on the way down, and GSP will be on top for years to come. It's time for St. Pierre to show that HE is the most dominant welterweight in the world, and going 2-1 over Hughes is just the first step. Hughes won't get the takedown, and his stand up isn't even close to ready for St. Pierre's speed and power. Georges St. Pierre by TKO, R2.

Although GSP may have some octagon-rust, I believe that he has a great chance to win. Technically, he is the better fighter of the two. However, Hughes’ strength and conditioning may be the deciding factor.

Regarding Everybody Loves Raymond’s comments:

Perhaps YOU should learn how to speak – or, rather write proper English, before insulting GSP’s accent. A person with the grammar, syntax and spelling of an eight-year-old, does not have the right to insult the speaking abilities of anyone else.

It's time for a change, Matt Hughes is a great fighter but he is full of himself and underestimates Georges. My money is on GSP.
Plus he's from Quebec, the best people in earth. T'est capable Georges, sacre y une volee au cowboy,\.

St. Pierre will win because hughes-sucks-is not as technical of a mma.
Remember Penn? Way better than hughes technically and almost won because of his skill.

Hughes will crush him. Matt is just an animal and freakish strong. GSP talks a bunch of trash and will fuel Matt to just smash him into the ground. GSP will be in better shape than BJ Penn, but needs to have his A game on to stand a chance. I just don't see him matching Matt in the strength department. Matt GNP in the 3rd.

This is a hard question
for one thing Matt is American so of course us Americans
want him to win
but if you look at GSP he is strong and quick
We saw Rich Franklin lose his belt
is it time for Matt Hughes to lose his?
I am not sure on that one
Did you see the TUF the other night when Matt
was talking a bunch of smack to GSP?
Matt is already underestimating GSP so....
in short I guess my answer is....
I dont know????

lol

It all depends on the way the fight goes.

on the ground hughes no contest. he will ground and pound st.pierre to a bloody mess.

But if it stays on the feet it will be very close unless hughes does a lot of striking work.

I would have to go with hughes in the end as he is so dominant.
