Go to your state's web page, they often have information on applying for food stamps, medical cards and cash assistance.

Instead of trying to find a better job, as some have said here, have you thought about going to school? As a single parent you may be able to receive grants, to pay for your schooling. Do work study, which is exempt income for most social programs, (at least in the state where I work). You will receive assistance with day care, many colleges have day cares on site. In four years you will be armed with what you need to have a career, not just a "better job".

Oh Yeah, go for child support.

Good luck, I know it's hard, but it is so worth it.

I don't know of any sites..but as a single mom of a 2 yr old...I totally understand...I can just offer you advice and tell you how I handle things. As far as daycare goes...there are programs where you can put your child in daycare for free so long as you show proof of income, or that you need the care b/c of work, school, or job hunting...and private daycares also accept vouchers where the city or state will pay the provider and you only have to shell out a few bucks...if there are items you need such as microwave, clothes, odds and ends then I suggest you try a site where people give away these items for free on a first come first serve basis like freecycle...if you have children under 5...I suggest making them an appt to get W.I.C. which will provide cereal,eggs,milk...apply for any type of help you are eligible for...don't feel ashamed...many programs will help you get on your feet and you won't need to use them again...for now...take advantage of what help is available...remember you are doing this for your children...

so easy to say you get a better job....and it isn't is it...there is daycare, and bills etc.etc. but do agree what about the father, but that still isn't enough when your doing it on your own. I have a major respect for single parents. been married a long time, and don't know how you do it. You come last in everything. and I am sure you are tired as hell. Little time for you for just yourself. I wish I had an answer to your question. aside from applying for food stamps, medicaid and such from your human resourse agency, but Kudos to you for doing it by yourself, you should be proud of yourself, even if you don't feel so happy right now....best wishes for your future, sincerely.

Most of the problems people have they make for themselves. Then they are perplexed when they end up somewhere they didn't want to be. Why don't you get support from the father. Plus get a job for yourself. Also, do you know how many people are struggling these days? You have a computer apparently so life can't be treating you all that bad.

you know a lot of people do not under stand , when a woman ask for help,. she needs help, she does all she can, as far as work if you have kids you have to be there for them, babysitters charge way to much, single moms have it rough, i feel sorry for them , and there are people out there that think if you ask for help, your a bum or something, if places paid more and if sitters didn't charge a arm and a leg single moms could do alot better for their self and their kids. good luck i hope you find help
