I try to often. I have a piece of paper up at work with this written on it, "which end of the pencil do you use most often"? I can't remember where I heard it, but I liked the analogy; do I write down all the offenses people make against me, or do I continually erase them (forgive) from existence? I can attest that it isn't easy to do what I should do, all the time, in this area. But I do know that it brings much more peace and fulfillment to follow His command about this!

For some reason certain things have been hard for me to forgive! It has taken about 25 years. Even after I thought I had forgiven this person it still took me a while to set it right with my self! I took the first steps. After a while about 2 more years I realize that I am no longer caring this burden! I feel lighter in my spirit. It appears that my health is improving even though I have been real sick with the shingles this summer. I am still feeling pain from that and it hit my nervious system really hard! Jesus was right to ask us to forgive. He knew that carrying around bitterness put a load on us that is extremely hard to bear! He also knew that when we are feeling this unforgivness that we can not have the kind of relationship with our heavenly Father that we should! I tryed my best to forgive for years and years and I ciouldn't! Somehow God let me know that I needed to bring these things to this person in order to be able to take the steps to forgiveness! I am hoping that from now on I will stand up for myself without feeling hate-anger and bitterness! I used to wonder if I was the most bitter person in the world! Forgivness has helped me to believe that now I will be better able to cope with the other problems in my life.I may not do very well but at least I have more of a desire to try.I am not as hard on myself either now! I am more forgiving even towards myself-relizing that I am only human! I have had some other problems but I am not going to burden myself down with these problems. Instead I will live each day a new! Any one who needs to- give yourself the gift of forgivness!

After some really horrible situations I have been through, it took me a long time to forgive some of the people that have caused me problems, but after I got over it and forgave the person, I felt a lot better. I should have done it a lot sooner! There have been other times where it was very easy to forgive.

I have trouble truly forgiving if someone does something mean or hateful to me. I just don't believe there's any need of that kind of behavior and forgiving makes it too easy on them. Mistakes is another thing all together. Anyone can make a mistake, and if they come to me and say they are sorry and mean it, I can forgive them more easily.

Jesus didnt just say forgive. He said if someone offends you and ask forgiveness, you are to forgive him seventy times 7 if he re-offends and ask forgiveness each time.

Yes, I've learned to forgive and forget. It's a good release for your heart, mind and soul.

When you do it, you are trusting God and leaving it up to Him. As Jesus said to come to Him and give Him our burden.

I apply this principle in my life and it ease up a lot of tension, resentment, anger and many unnecessary junk in your heart and mind. And I found out, it's good for the heart-- it relieves you from stress, and in turn, you feel healthy. Jesus is good-- He surely knows what He is teaching about. *smile*

And I can concentrate more in my personal relationship with Him. It's a win-win.

Yes.
I am glad that you are talking about my Lord and Savior!

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

I hope you get a chance to know Jesus as savior in your life too. He shed His precious blood on the cross for my sins and yours. And from that cross He said "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." WOW ! I love Him so much !

Yes, it's hard but Jesus reminds me that If I forgive then he will forgive me and if I don't forgive then I reap destruction and he won't forgive me.

Kathryn B is completely wrong. Jesus will forgive anyone if they just repent their sins and ask Jesus to guide them in their life. Anyone just needs to be cleansed.
