Well, if I had a religious leader, I would attend, but with some bars. Let's say I'm in the religion, I would go to all lengths to attend to what my religion calls for. I do not believe, on the other hand, that people should be forced to do things because of their religion. So, if I did not want to burn the book that they were burning, I would not go, and consider why I am part of the religion, and take a view at whether you believe they are doing the wrong thing, or if you are, by not attending. If they were burning, let's say... the Bible... I would not go. I disagree compeltely with the Bible, but there are religions that worship it, therefore I would NEVER be in the presence of any for of disgracement of it, as I respect all religions, and I would by far be disrespecting Christianity and quite a few others along with it.

I hope you make a good decision... and whether or not you make a good decision is not up to me. Whichever makes you feel more comfortable is the right decison for you.

Good luck. Much love.

If you're a Muslim they do it all the time..

I saw one heck of a bonfire behind a Mosque in Dearborne Michigan where they were burning copies of the small hardbound copies of the US Constitution and other founding documents use to frame the US as a nation.

I reported the incident but the local News channel never came out to tape much less Air the activity or accept my Video of the act. Far Left Wing Liberal Political Correctness in action!

I also have video of these Mosque members practicing "repelling" down the sides of their mosque practicing some type military exercises?

But the good folks of Dearborne just look the other way !!

No. I don't believe in that, a book is a valuable thing. It is someone elses ideas, words, thoughts. Just because someone don't agree with what it says, doesn't make it wrong. Everyone has a right to think, believe what they will. Book burning is wrong.

I'm jewish.

Judaism doesn't really have anything equivalent to Excommunication.

if a Jewish leader even THOUGHT of such a thing, I think Judaism as a whole would pretty much adopt Excommunication as a special occasion.

NO. Even fiction has it's place. No matter what the book is it has a function. If a book is publidhed and I don't like it, I don't buy it. To burn books is wrong. Someone went to the effort to write them, so we should respect them and not destroy what they created. The only thing we should to is to politely ask them to re-consider what they write in the future.

yoru religious leaders should never impose their political views on their congregations. So if they do.... you should find another place to worship.

Now, if you feel like burning books on your own time - then thats your perrogative. giddyup!
