Its a bio-chemical-electrical reaction to our response for new sources of energy.
What does it symbolize? It symbolizes our need to learn everything we can. Especially about ourselves, the Universe and whether or not there is a creative force (God). By satisfying our "hunger" for these, we will have advanced our species to a point where we will have evolved beyond just beings that reproduce, but beings who are intelligent and capable of even greater things to come! The possiblities will then seem endless.

Hunger is when you need to place nutrients in your stomach. It symbolizes that your stomach acid no longer has a sufficint amount of substance to act on.

It's when your stomach that it is hungry and you need to eat
your stomach growls and gurgles letting you know it's a sign of hunger and you need to put food in to fill up your stomach. the stomach contains tissue and nerves in the GI tract to help contain food to break it down in the stomach and the acids of your stoamch

Hunger is a feeling of want. Most literally, we mean wanto forfood. It may also mean want for wealth. want for peace, want for sex etc.
