well im not a parent but plan to be soon and i have read that a baby mind is not ready for baby einstien or tv for that matter untill 2-3 and this has been linked to autism while signing is something that they can learn and it eases frustration for begining speakers but should not be a supliment for speaking

Baby Einstein Signing

My 15 month old loves Baby Einstein, but I just got her "My Baby Can Talk" and "Talking Hands" which, if I can hold out, will be Christmas presents. I'm really excited to start signing with her. She already uses a lot of gestures to communicate so I think she's going to take to signing very well. A friend of mine has 2 girls, 4 and 6, and they both still like the Baby Einstein DVD's.

My 21 month old really likes Baby Einstein videos, he started watching them when he was 15 months old. He likes Baby Noah and the Farm Animals the best.

We taught him sign language from 9months old. At around 15 months, we got the Signing Times with Alex and Leah DVD, it was great for teaching signs. We also watched "Baby Signs" which goes with the book , it was good too.

If you are wanting to teach sign language, the signing videos are great but if you just want to expose your child to animals, Baby Einstein is great because there are a lot of animals and repetition, not a lot of talking like movies and cartoons.

They both are great...baby signs is a great way to help your baby communicate before they are verbal. It definitely helps them not get frustrated so easily! As for Baby Einstein I think they are fantastic tapes! Now clearly babies should not be watching a lot of t.v. but when my youngest was fussy and nothing was soothing her she loved her Baby Einstein tapes, the colors and the music soothed her to sleep. Great videos! And now that she is a little older she watches them a little more and is able to recognize animals and other things. It's a great program!

We do both. My daughter loves "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." She, too, loves the Baby Einstein videos. She's 15 months and teething back molars as well as getting into her tantrums on occassion. When singing, toys, and baby Orajel don't work, I get out one of ALL of the Baby Einstein videos. Yes, I have all of them. No, she doesn't watch for hours and hours; however, she loves the entire collection so much that I just went out and bought it. The toys and books are great too...very educational.

My son LOVES Baby Einstein, he started watching at 4 months old and is now 2 years old and still loves them. The videos have age groups so I think they are perfect from baby to toddler.

I had the entire container set of the toddler Einstein video clips. i think of the two are a crock. in basic terms spending time inclusive of your toddler, analyzing, repetition, and image books can show your toddler to appreciate language in basic terms as quickly as any of those classes that value you an arm and a leg to purchase into their "shown" procedures.
