It is not proper for a girl to ask a guy for a date . To invite a guy to go out with a group for a picnic or Church gathering is perfectly alright. My advice to you if you are really interested in him , is to phrase your invitation in such a way that the invitation is coming from him and not from you. i.e. " Are you going to this party"? he answers ," Yes I am" . You answer ," Good, then at least I know that ,what they are saying is true , that you are taking me ". Now you will be putting him in a situation that if he affirms what you have said , then he has some interest in you. But if he says outright that he is coming but is taking somebody else, then by all means , don't waste your time, look for someone better. By the way he is no gentleman . He should have answered if I was in his shoes," I would love to , but I have this previous commitment, but will you come with us? We can always make it a threesome . Safety in numbers you know and three is always a company."

It's a huge turn-on if the girl has the guts to put herself in the open and fears of getting rejected. Regardless of looks and/or personality I would take the time to have a conversation with a girl because she took a big risk. Vice versa for a guy asking a girl out. Don't you agree?

The culture that one is brought up in, dictates the man does the asking for a date.
Times have changed, we are in the 21st century. It is OK to ask a guy out, as long as he has shown interest in you. It could be that he may be a bit shy, as some are, so go ahead and good luck.

There's nothing wrong with a girl making the move. It is much easier for a girl to ask out a guy than for a guy to ask out a girl. You have less to worry about, there is less of chance for a guy to turn down a girl.

Good Lord I thought we covered this 40 years ago now. Yes it's ok for a girl to ask a guy out, if she likes him. They can go dutch if she can't afford to pay for him or if he thinks it's his job as the man to pay but doesn't want to.

It's going out and having fun together , you're not necessarily going to marry the guy.

NEVER! NO, NO, NO, NEVER! It's the kiss of death for any relationship! There are ways to let him know that you are interested that involve NOT asking him out! Please, know that no matter what men say about liking being asked out it's a total and complete LIE. I'm not saying they are consciously aware that it's a lie, but it is! Men (and any human being) naturally want what they have to work to get. What is offered to them (men) is typically disregarded like a used Kleenex after the fun/sex is over.

I think that a girl should be able to go up to any guy that she is interested in and ask him to go out with her. There is nothing to be scared of. Why not be bold and take the high road.

Yes, of course a girl should. We want equality. We want to be treated equal. We should be able to ask a guy out and not leave it to them all of the time. Don't be afraid. It is not manly.

That's up to them. However, they should probably try it because almost always the girl rejects us and our chance is basically over so sometimes I wait a very long time and maybe never get that eventual chance.
