is fixed and lives indoors and has all of his shots so far. Is it "normal" that he still has desires to "boink" my blankets? Wouldn't this "desire" have left him since he was fixed? How common is it for this to still happen? Also why does my male kitten pick up his back leg to pea like a dog does? He started this a few months ago after he was fixed. My vet has no idea as to why this is??? Do you?? Serious answers only please. Thank you.

I have one female cat who "spray pees" - some urine goes down into the box and some goes on the surface of the box or a nearby wall. Her vet saw her do it once and said he had never seen that before.

My 14 year old tabby will place one leg on the side of the box when he urinates.

I have a 11 yr old neutered male cat who "humps" soft toys. That is sort of a behavior cats can have with prey, real or pseudo prey. The blanket "kneading" is a left-over kitten behavior.

So I don't think either behaviors is necessarily unusual and not something to worry about.

dear lady, I have been feeding a dozen cats in the woods for 3 years, and Im still learning from them. So I dont feel like an expert, except in what Ive seen. When a male animal (cat) is "fixed," (which means the testicles are removed but not the penis), I dont see how that would affect how he pees. I dont think even a vet would imagine the male cat is going to pee like a female. Is it possible he's joshing you, or being delicate or something? Also the boinking of the blankets. Are you under the blankets when this happens? Ill bet you ARE,

Being the highly intelligent creatures that they are, each one has his/her own distinct personality. They each have different traits that are peculiar to them as individuals. I have a 10 year old Tabby (see my 360) who although he was neutered at 6 months, still backs up to things and his tail and end twitch as if he were marking them. Nothing comes out, but that's just what he does. He also trys to 'boink' the other cat, who is also a 10 year old male. As far as your little guy, only he knows why he does what he does, but I wouldn't be alarmed.

Hahah wow that's a new one! Just when you think you've seen it all...
He could still have some hormones in his system if he is only just 6 months old. At least nothing nasty can come of it.
I like that he pees like a dog - that's pretty cool! If it's not the ruselt of anything wrong with him & it's not hurting him then I figure leave him to it.

WOW, this is a new one for me. I know cats can have some very strange behaviors, but I have never heard of this happening. I will consult with my DPN and the 2 DVM's tomorrow at work and get their opinion on the matter and I will get back to you as soon as I have an answer.

HI
If he had these behaviors before he was neutered, he will continue to do them afterward - he knows he is a male. Hopefully as his hormones cool down he will mellow out too. At least he is practicing safe sex! :)
Good luck!

hi, I don't know about the whole leg thing, but most male cat still "pleasure" themselves even after they are fixed. just be thankful he's fixing his attention on inanimate objects.
