I have that too--however you spell it.

I give people permission to force me to do what I have to do. My daughter used to wake me up at 4 in the morning with a glass of oj in her hand when I had to catch 6 am flights out to work.

Now, I knit as a retired person, and as much as I enjoy it, I have to find a new project to force myself to finish the old one or else I don't allow myself to start the new one.

These mental games and constant reminders actually work for me. Otherwise, I'd accomplish nothing, sitting around like a bump on a log, lazy as . . .

As for motivation, I heard a therapist recommend that if you must behave a certain way which you genuinely do not feel compelled to act, then you must "act as if", meaning you must act as if you felt like engaging in that behavior. You must be an actor and just do it.
As for planning and implementation, I recommend you make a list of what you want to accomplish that day, at the beginning of the day, then check off the tasks that you accomplish.
Its simple but effective. Eventually you will become motivated, spurred on by your accomplishments.
Good luck.

Laziness, of which I also have the same problem, is the inability to schedule your day. Chances are you weren't taught it by your parents.

Make a schedule for your day by the hour. Make a list of things you want to do for the day. Be realistic about the list; if you have too many, you will be overwhelmed and give up. That's what happens to me. Put them in the schedule, and check them off one by one. You'll feel great !

I suffer tooo. First thing I would do is go to the Dr. and make sure that is the problem, sometimes we might not admit to ourselves that the problem is bigger than what we want it to be. If that don't work, get a friend or two together and start eating a good breakfast and go for a walk. Just to get yourself going.

Good Luck!!!!

There is no such thing as laziness. You're either interested in what you're doing . . . or you're not.
