With my dogs, whenever I saw them doing that they always got a whack on the head, paw and butt. Also, if you give him/her treats, we cut our dogs off from treats for the rest of the night

Try discipline! Try a tin can full of pennies and shake it every time the undesired act starts. Never ever hit a dog or he will learn to fear you. That is not what you want. Also anything that would make a hissing sound when he does this undesirable act like a balloon filled with air and letting air out from the bottom and pinch it to make a horrible squealing sound. Pre fill it with air and pinch it off with a clothes pin and keep it on hand for the very moment it happens. You must be, I repeat. YOU MUST BE CONSISTENT or else it will never stop and only progress. Dogs are like children very much so in the way that if you are not consistent they will learn you do not mean business when you say something. Dogs will run your household if you let them be Alpha dog in a new york minute.

Hi
Here are afew things I did. I cut plexiglass to shape and screwed it on as a protector on to the door and the moulding. I also quit answering the door. Eventually she got tired of not receiving a response and gave up. I also used baby gates. Usually a dog does that becasue of nervous energy or something is truly upsetting them (fire crackers, trains, certain noises and they are trying to get away. Once you have determined what is causing this then you remove it and go. Unitl then, use the plexiglass
