does anyone else find this kinda weird?

Sadly it's the norm. Kids don't think about love as a serious word. They throw it around and suddenly a "I like you a lot" is the same as "I love you" even though they don't love one an other...

They probably have strong feelings for eachother and mistake it for love. Though love could develop from it.

I wouldn't worry about it. Teens assume a lot of things. Time can only tell if it's actual love or not.

weird no that's an average 17 year old when i was 17 years old i moved out and ran off with a guy that let me support us both took me a minute to figure out this was a disaster and get out. emotions are so strong at 17 but hardly ever any truth in what you think they are

I met my wife in High School. Our first date was at 17 and we've been married for 14 years.

However, that is a bit early.......

Seventeen year olds don't know what love is. The appropriate thing to say is that he or she is in "lust" with the other person.

I told my boyfriend I loved him when I was 14
3 months ago we just broke up.

yeh i think its normal, but i also think the seriousness and importance of saying the big three word is long gone

very normal for teenagers.
a lot of the time, they don't actually mean "i love you"
it has become much more loosely used
