Hollywood they, you mean ? good question. i once asked a Egyptian friend the same thing.
films of events during the time of Mohamed have been made, he told me, but did you know that no actor has ever played the prophet. in other words he has never been shown on screen. Muslims would find that just a wee bit too blasphemous. only references to his words or deeds are ever mentioned.
now, if Hollywood do have a go at making the movie...how could we even begin to imagine the consequences. remember that cartoon of him from Holland, or the, "satanic verses" !

Can you imagine.
That would be a surefire way to trigger a full blown WW III, initiated by the Muslims.
It would make the current situation in the Middle east look like a minor skirmish.

If they ever make a movie about Qu'ran... I think there will be lots of chaos & emotional uproar... Just look at the recent comic strip of the phrophet muhammad.. Its best to avoid doing a movie about the Qu'ran.. believe me

Now's your chance! Make a movie about the Qu'ran that people will pay money to see and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank

God willing, I am a Muslim working on my film degree. There is one film called The Message starring Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas based on Qur'anic passaged. There are also some animated films about Qur'an stories which are quite good.
My goal in life is to make a full-featured movie telling a Qur'an story or two, especially about the lives of the Prophets.
Here is some links to Qur'anic animated films:
The Message:

story of Cain and Able: http://www.simplyislam.com/iteminfo.asp?item=53467
The Boy and the King (based on the Chapter in Quran call Al-Buruj):

peace
P.S. Those few comics or cartoons people here are referring to were malicious and very insulting in nature. That is the only reason Muslims got upset. Granted, some Muslims took things too far, but the cartoons were no perfumed flowers either. The Prophet must be portrayed with respect and honor or you can always expect the same behaviour from certain groups.

Its not got much of a storyline, and the stories it mentions briefly are basically nicked from the Jewish Scriptures/Bible with the occasional embelishment...
