My hair is originally light brown; so when I colored it last night I still have some red tones. What can I do now? No; I don't wan't to go to the hair salon. I think it can be toned down with Hydrogen Peroxide. Iv'e done this before. I'm just trying to make sure im right. It's just been awhile since I colored my hair. No I did not use a lightner, (just color only).

My hair looks a strawberry blond just like it did when I was younger. It does not look bad I just want it lighter.

hydrogen peroxide does work, as does lemon juice:although, with lemon juice you must let the sun hit your hair. I believe there is some sort of chemical reaction when this happens, that removes color, and making the hair lighter in appearance.

Going from light brown to ash blond then you used a bleach,
aka lightener. Hydrogen Peroxide will cause most brown hair to turn a brassy orange if trying to go too light or if the hair has red tones in it.
the easiest way to know if you have red tones is to look at your hair in the sun( before you color it.) the red tones will show up if you have them. if you have already colored your hair( like in your case.) check old photos of you in the sun, you might be able to see the the red tones that way. If you use ash tones stick with the ash tones just use a few shades lighter than what you have been.

Are you trying to tone out red or go lighter? Peroxide will lighten the color you just did, but you'll still be orange-ish. You need to stop coloring your own hair because you obviously don't know what you are doing. You are going to end up with a BIG mess on your head if you continue. Go to a professional, it is worth the money. The more you do yourself, the more damage you cause and the less likely you are to get the color you want.

if you want to tone out red, (or do you mean orange brassy tones?)...which I think you are mistaken if you used ash blond...ash is green and will cancel any red on its own...check the box again.....and if you are still seeing red get an ash toner at Sally's....putting strait peroxide on your hair is going to turn it orange...but what I have a feeling you really need to do because most people are confused with how to explain what they see is a Blue Based Toner....it will cancel out the Orange tones, because I have a feeling you are seeing orange brassy tones and mistaking it for red tones....customers do it all the time....

peroxide will only make it an orange color. The only way to lighten it without going any shade of red/orange is to have it professionally done with bleach and blonde colors added to that.

You should not do any more coloring to your hair as it is more porous, absorbing more of anything you add to it colorwise.

Just add a few hightlights and that will make it appear to be lighter all over.
