Of their ancestors that raped their Indian women.

Of their ancestors that took all the gold, silver and natural resources they could load aboard their ships and took it back to Spain

This question has nothing to do with overall Latin culture or heritage. It has very specific and focused comments on certain facts of Latin American history and current events.

Can't any of you actually address the items questioned here?

Can any of you see how most cultures parallel each other?

Can't anyone comment on the apparent hypocrisy of those who bash the "white" culture but at the same time are ignorant of their own ancestral sins.

LOL....Your really stretching it there...Like trying to squeeze water from a stone...That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard....PS...Mexicans are a mix of Spanish and Indians...They were the bastard children of Spanish, how do you figure? I would say they were much more victimized, than being the victimizors....Next time, find a real argument.....

First of all I am very proud of my heritage, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I think you need to open your eyes and realize that Hispanics are a very wide range of people. Indicating that they are all the same ( which you seem to think ) is very ignorant. You need to realize that it would be like indicating that every white skinned person has the same heritage. Even Americans and Europeans have very different views and cultures. I have no control of what my ancestors did, what about your ancestors? I hope your not indicating that what my ancestors have done has any direct connection on how I live my life. I am very proud to be an American and so is my family. My ancestors have been in America since it was still Mexico. I live in a small town in Northern New Mexico ( and yes it is part of the union since like 1911 ) and every one I know is very proud of thier heritage. As for the Latin American countries and leaders, if someone in Europe does the same kind of thing should you be directly linked to their actions? I'm not from any part of Mexico, Central, or South America so should I be proud of them? NO! I have never bashed America. I Love my country and The Pledge of Allegence is more than something we used to say in school. So before you think that every hispanic is the same just realize that you are way off base.

You seems to be very confused my friend. First you ask:

"Are latins (Hispanics) ashamed or proud ??? Of their ancestors that enslaved both Indigenous americans & Africans"

So I guess you are talking about white Latin Americans. Almost all the Latin American that emmigrates to USA are non-white. (Seems like you are angry with the hispanics in the USA). I am a white Latin American, I suppose I feel as much ashamed as the white United Statesians that did the same thing with blacks and native americans. Actually you did it much worst. Untill 1960 blacks couldn't enter in university in your country.

"Of their contemporaries that think all "white people" are racist. Don't they realize that thinking that all the people of one race (white people) have exactly the same attitudes and thoughts is the definition of racism?"

First you was talking about white Latin-Americans now you are talking about non-white Latin Americans, you are very confused, don't you?

"Of the "leaders" of the various Latin American countries that continue with the kleptocratic ways of their founding Spanish ancestors and steal the wealth and prosperity of their own countries, making it necessary for so many to emigrate to the US."

LOL, you like to generalize, don't you? Do you think to make a country rich all you have to do is to want?

"Of those Latin American countries that even today treat migrants from other Latin American countries far worse than the US has ever done."

Could you give an example? Latin American has alway received in its history its immigrants with open arms, unlike USA. Today the countries that must suffer with immigration in Latin America are Argentina (from Paraguay and Bolivia) and Costa Rica (from Nicaragua and other Central American nations). No one is thinking in building fencies in those countries. Actually if you are from Bolivia or Paraguay you don't need visa to go to Argentina.

"Of those latins that even as they enjoy the blessings of this country (US) feel it necessary to continually bash it."

What bless? I don't live in the USA. But answering for the ones that live, should they not bash the USA when so much hate exists? A hate that they are not used in their home countries?

Try to learn a bit more about Latin America before start pointing fingers.

I am of Cuban, Spanish and Italian heritage but I am first and foremost an American. I am a third generation American on my dad's side and first generation American on my mom's. I am part of the cultures I have from both sides of my family but I am an American. One of the biggest problems we have in this country is seperation. We identify ourselves by our backgrounds and why? I live in NY and I'm sad to say that I see more people with Italian and Puerto Rican flags on people's cars and tattooed on their bodies than American flags. With everything that is happening in our country why are we making it harder for ourselves to join together as one. Instead of people being "Polish and Proud" why can't we be "Proud to be Americans"? If you're not happy to be in this country and think you could do better somewhere else!!! You want to represent another country and use it to identify yourself than let us Americans work out what we have to work out and LEAVE!!!

I am proud of the Aztec culture, did you know that they ate the hearts of warriors they captured?

Did you know that they were also astronomers? Architects? Did you know how accurate their calendar is? How can I not be proud of that, a small part of me comes from it. How about their temples! They rival those from Egypt!

You bet I am proud of my culture.

Are you of yours?

1.- Slavery
2.- Marginate a whole civilization of Native Americans, stole THEIR land
3.- Kukux Clan?
4.- How many people died in Iroshima and Nagasaki?
5.- Viet Nam?

Yep, stand up and be proud.
