Is there a petition started anywhere against the Ban of Pit Bulls? If not, how do you go about setting one up? They need to work on educating the public about how all dogs should be trained and socialized. They also need to work harder on cracking down on people who fight or misstreat dogs. (the real reason they get aggressive)

Probably through local council or something like that. While you're at it,how about a petition to ban stupid people from owning animals?! I see untrained, unsocialised dogs owned by people with no idea of how to control them virtually every day of my life...gets a bit depressing after a while...

I'm yet to meet a nasty pit bull (and I deal with a LOT of dogs)...I'd rather deal with a pittie than a yappy, aggressive little Pom or white fluffy anyday!

I am not for sure where you would go to start a petition against the laws pushed for the ban of pit bulls. I know the one in my town just got shot down, because all of the loyal dog owners and pit bull lovers banned together against it. Everyone wrote letters to the editor about the issue. Now they are actually trying to get a bill passed about having to carry a special insurance if you own a pit bull because of the people who have raised them malicously to attack people and other pets. I would advise getting ahold of someone in your state office and find out the best way to start a petition and then find out how to go about getting it notarized.

I do not know how either, but it should be a law that you have to have a license to own a dog like this. People do not know how to raise such dogs. Dogs that are put on chains, or in a fence with no one around to train it , it becomes what it has to. Any breed that is naturally agressive needs an owner that knows what their doing.

Pit Bulls are nice dogs.

They are just a bad breed, blame the owners all you want, but so many of these dogs have even turned on their owners that it doesn't have any valid reasoning after awhile, just a dangerous dog. Get rid of all of them and wipe out that breed!!!!

I don't think that the problem is with the dogs, it's the owners.
