It's called lust or infatuation, usually the first thing that attracts us to someone, then if it works out after getting to know someone, then you start to fall in love. Most people confuse the two, and jump ahead into relationships, their not ready for. Great physical attraction is awesome, but there is alot more to it then that.

no there's no possible way you can be in love with someone you don't really know, because you don't know nothing about that person like they say you really don't know a person until you live with them. I suggest that you should love someone that loves you back as well, that's love.

Salaam dear,
It is impossible and if u are in love with some unknown one, actually u are in love with your own imaginary person.
only if your imaginary is right like the reality, maybe we can say you love him or anyone like that... But this equality between someone's imagination and unfold reality is very rarely so it is not trustable and reliable except someone who researches to discover the reality.
But In my opinion we can not be without an ideal image from which important thing we're gonna go to, and what we prefer to be like in our minds... maybe it is because it's necessary.

Good Luck!

At first pass this looks like a foolish question, but after a deeper look, one realizes that love at first site would qualify here.
I believe since "Love" is a feeling, yes, you can love someone you don't really know.

Yes, I think that is possible. You could be in love with your ideas on who you think that person might be...but you wouldn't know what they are really like. So you could really be in love, but with a fantasy rather than the real person.

.......................
Love at first sight!
.......................
Love at first sight is when a person feels romantic passion for a complete stranger upon his or her initial encounter with the stranger. The term can be used casually to refer to a mere sexual attraction or crush, but it usually refers to actually falling in love with someone literally the very first time one sees him or her, along with the deep desire to have an intimate relationship with that person. The stranger may or may not be aware that the other person has any such notion, and may not even be aware of the other person's presence (such as in a crowded place). Sometimes two people experience this phenomenon towards each other at the same time, usually when their eyes meet. See also love.
....................................
Frequency of the phenomenon

Although love at first sight is portrayed in many forms of literature, the frequency of this emotional feeling towards another occurring in reality has somewhat dwindled in the modern day era. Only in extremely rare circumstances does a person fall in love with another at first sight. The person in question may have no understanding of the person's personality and sentiment towards them. It would break the admirer's heart to find out that the person who they admire may be self-centered or careless towards other people. The majority of modern day society would prefer to develop a friendly relationship with the admired person before falling in love with the admired person in question.

I honestly don't think so. I think you can long for a relationship with someone that makes you feel like you are aching with love. It's more of an infatuation.

Best Wishes!!
