All the reports I read say that lithotripsy should not be done on people weighing 300 pounds or more. I had lithotripsy in September, and I have a serious weight problem and it didn't seem to make a difference. As far as pain goes they gave me general anesthesia during the procedure, and I knew nothing at all about it. Afterwards I had no pain, but my follow up showed that the stone had not passed either. I'm getting ready to have a second litho in November. My doctor says it's possible that the first litho weakened the stone where the second one will finish breaking it up where it can pass. (Many people need more than one procedure). They gave me pain medication and I never needed it, but I understand that some people do have pain during the first 12 to 24 hours, and that it varies from person to person. Keep in mind that people have different thresholds of pain. My nurse said that it is kind of a cramping pain but isn't any worse than the pain stones cause before they are removed. About the only discomfort I had was feeling zoned out by the anesthesia for about 8 hours afterwards. After that I was completely back to normal. But overall, my litho experience was not unpleasant at all. Your doctor or nurse is the best source of advice, of course. Good luck.

The reality is that a developing quantity of American kids are fitting chubby. I do believe it's, extra at the side of commercials for fatty meals and the promoting of bad conduct. However, tv is attempting to difference that and quick meals chains are delivering more healthy choices. Though, the cost remains to be growing. The media is absolutely no longer being sincere in advertising a more healthy America. I believe the principal end result of this could be our subsequent iteration having a fair bigger plethora of well being-comparable sicknesses and problems and can ultimately be costing the entire older generations for his or her care.
