Great question!! When your face is oily, the last thing you need to do is pack more powder on it. Then you're just caking on more mess and clogging more pores. What you want to do is LIFT the oil-- not strip the skin by overwashing. Clean and Clear has a product, called Oil Blotting Sheets. There are about 50 to a pack. When you start to see the shine come on, press a sheet to your skin. No need to rub. Just press lightly and the oil sticks to the sheet, lifting it off-- not even removing your makeup. They are great. The result is instantanous. My face used to be an oil slick by the end of the day, but I use these sheets a couple of times a day, and my skin has actually gotten clearer because I have less oil on it to cause blemishes. This is a wonder product. It's about 5 bucks a pack and they fit well in your wallet. you can even tuck an extra one in your bra or sock if you have to pockets.
Also, they say every kind of skin needs moisterizer, but I disagree. People with oily skin tend to wrinkle less anyway. That's one upside to being greasy, huh?
Try the product though, I KNOW you wont be disappointed.

No moisturizer. Talk to a pharmacist. Check your diet. Some foods cause oily skin. Eggs and some dairy products cause your body to create excess oil. Taking even one vitamin E supplement daily will make your skin oily looking. Buy the best facial cleanser you can afford, one that does not contain "unknown" or otherwise oily ingredients. Many soaps and cosmetics are made from what's leftover when a butcher or meat processing company is done with it. The disposable facial cloths (Olay, Dove, etc) work very well to clean deeply, removing the top layer of oily skin. Keep a box of it in your shower.

There are many good products out there that can help oily skin. I have oily skin so I have tried a lot of products out. Using a antibactial soap will help and maybe a oil free moisterizer. Biore makes a moisterizer for oil control that works pretty well.

I use soap and water to wash then I use a Noxzema triple clean Anti-Blemish Pad (they come in a little jar that is orange and blue) and wipe my face really well with it. If you are a girl you can use liquid makeup and powder and there are moisturizers for men that do help, if you know someone that carries Avon they can help you a lot and at a very reasonable price with any skin care problems.

I have the same problem as you. Moisturizer doesn't counter the shininess at all.
Using talcum powder on my face helps a little, and I heard about using milk of magnesia as a toner to help -- it makes one's skin look matte when applied. It made me break out when I did it, though, so I didn't keep it up, but it did seem to help.
