Tampons are flushed down the toilet, pads are removed (in the privacy of a bathroom stall), rolled up with the menstrual blood side of the pad rolled IN, wrapped in toilet paper, and if she is sanitary, placed in the plastic her new pad came out of, then placed in a receptacle designed for disposal of pads. It has a trash bag in it and the janitor should never have to touch the inside of the bag, also, they(janitors) should be wearing gloves when dealing w/ sanitary disposals.

Oh geeze. Ok, most normal decent women go into a stall to do this. Tampons can generally be flushed down the toilet. For pads, generally women wrap them in toilet paper or the wrapper the pad comes in and puts them in a little trash can near the toilet. Trash cans generally have liners, so there shouldn't be any contact problems for the janitors.
Anyways, would any guy take care of personal matters just in the open area of a restroom (say, putting on a jock strap or something)? YUCK!

There are metal trash cans in most public restrooms. I do not like to touch them, so I flush my tampons. And, no, we don't do it in front of the sink. We go into the stalls. As for the janitors - all I can say is I wouldn't want to be one!

If you don't want to run the trash out everyday, use a small trash bin with a lid for the bathroom. Sprinkle baking soda of the bin and in the bin liner. Wrap them up as usually and put some extra TP over them to hide them from view and should cut down on odor.

As veiew point of mine , every body must concern the health of others. that is a good poibnt you disclosed. women must carefuly put their used tampons in to a plastic bag then cadge it tightly and throw it to the trash can
in this case the janitors are not at risk and it looks very nice too.

Yeah we just pull our pants down and yank them out in front of everyone....lol. Tampons you flush and pads get thrown away in little trash cans (usually with little trash bags in them) that are in the stalls.

Viruses such as HIV die very shortly after the are no longe rin the body. Any viruses would not survive in menstrual blood on a pad in a trash can. Viruses live in human bodies and need to be transmitted from one body to another body via bodily secretions, blood or mucous membranes. They can not survive outside of the body and are not transmitted that way.

I'm a guy, and once walked into a woman's restroom by accident. When I walked in, I noticed these female dispensers on the wall, then realized where I was.....and got the hell out of there. Luckilly it was at night and no one was around or noticed. I was pretty embarassed.
