we are just the creations of god. We just say that we are his children becus we know that he is allways with us and allways willing to help us in our time in need.

Those who are born again through Jesus are God's children. Not those who are not born again. We are His children because even though we have an earthly father and were born physically, in order to be reconciled back to God spiritually (because of the fall of Adam) we have to be born again. Then we are made into a new creation. We end up having God's DNA so to speak just like we all have our father's here on earth. We then are considered "born from God". Right out of His loins. Not physically but spiritually. Everything is God's creation, but not everyone is God's child.

We are called children of God because there are scripture references that say we have been adopted by God. Jesus is the son of God, and when you become a Christian, then you become a joint heir by the spirit of adoption, in which you will inherit everything that Jesus' inherited.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father!
Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.
Rom 8:17 And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together.

You could also argue that we're the creations of our parents. A parent/child relationship is more of an attitude than a declaration of origin. If you look to God as a father and believe that He looks to you with love, then why wouldn't you be His child?

I believe that we are God's Spirit children.. we lived with Him in Heaven until we came here to receive the gift of a physical (created) body... This is why you will read things in the Bible like:
Jer. 1: 5.
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
I believe that everything else in the universe God created Spiritually, and then Jesus created them physically (perhaps similar to God making up the drawings and Jesus building them.. only more exact)

But you're missing the essential point of why God made us. He made us for his pleasure, to be loved by Him and to love Him. We have the choice to love Him (and thats the best kind of love, too, isn't it? the kind where someone chooses to love us, not because we are forced). And since God is way waaaaaaaaay bigger than us, its only natural for us to be considered Children of God. God also refers to us as his Bride (the Church). There are different metaphors that the Bible uses, but Children is probably the best metaphor, because we need His help to grow and mature.

No rocks are not God's children. God said that only humans are his children that he loves very much.

Of all things incarnate, only human (adam) was made in His image. The rest of creation is His also, but we were created in His image; he who is the eternal family of Father, Son and Spirit.

Supposidly, its because humans are not just created by God, but made in his image... which is most likely where the "children" reference came from if I had to conjecture.

Read Genesis. Mankind is the pinnacle of creation and all of nature and animals are subordinate to man and help man.
