Seafood should be consumed within 24 hours of purchase unless your freeze it right away. Raw shrimp should stay good in freezer for a while anyway as long as there is no problems with your freezer. You can also purchase previously frozen shrimp and dethaw in bag in tepid water when ready to cook. You may need to change water a few times to get shrimp to thaw quicker.
