It sounds as if this man needs help. You would be a great witness for Christ in helping this man change his appearance and help him clean up his life and his house. You do not have to do this alone. Let the members of your church know about this and see if some of the members will help out. If this man that you speak of sees so many people willing to help him, I think it would change his life a lot to know that there are people caring enough to help him out.

This has nothing to do with religion, but with self-esteem or laziness. Personally, I dislike it when people say, "this guy has personal problems, so he must be converted to Christianity". Converting a person to Christianity when he has personal problems is the worst thing you can ever do. He/she becomes self-righteous, smug and a pain in the ****.

If you want to convert him, do it after he's gotten over his problems.

This guy needs some self-esteem. He needs to be introduced to someone he would really, really want to impress. If he doesn't have a job, he needs a job. Raise his self-esteem first.
