I've never in my life thought I had a spirit guide or asked one for help. My hobby is metal detecting. Just stick with me here. There's this old field they rototilled in preparation to plant grass. A big field. 200 yards wide by 400 yards long. Don't ask me how but I knew there was a ring out there. I just know, it happens all the time. But this field was getting the better of me. I'd been there 12 out of 14 days. I walked who knows how many miles without a ring. 20-30 miles I bet. On this particular day I felt like a beaten man. Dead tired. 8:30 at night. I'd hunted my rear off for that ring. I was a loser. Then I for some reason asked my spirit guide to help me. Just out of the blue. I don't know why I did. So I turned and started walking in a straight line. Holding the metal detector out to my side. I wasn't swinging it back n forth. I walked about 150 feet. Nothing happened. Not a peep from the machine. I then told myself, you idiot, the spirit comes from within, not some outside force. I then turned around, basically in the same direction I just came from. I walked about 80 feet, again in a straight line, and beep beep beep. So I dug up the object. It was only two inches deep. Take a look at the link below. That's what I found. I don't know what to make of the whole thing. Coincidence? Spirit guide? Or did I just will it. To answer your question. No I've never heard a spirit guide say a word.

Is this something that you are looking to have? The answer is yes I have a few guides. One came when I was 4 yrs. One came at 8yrs. The rest came as they were needed. Some sound human. Some don't talk. Some are too hard describe on this plane of existence. If one is needed for you they will come. You can't make one come. Open your mind and heart to it and they will talk.

i suppose it all depends on what you mean by spirit guides. shamans have existed since time immemorial, with only small variations, in nearly every culture of the world. they have always claimed to have such experiences, to live between two worlds.
i believe something like this all depends on how open-minded one can be, and the level of symbolism one can use in explaining/exploring the worlds around us.
my guide appears in both forms, human and animal. your best bet when approaching your guide is to be as inviting as possible. think of it as a face to the voice of your intuition. they should speak to you in an idiom/manner of speech best fit to help you understand what they mean.

I know loads of people who can communicate with their guides.
The key is meditation. I've recently been able to contact my guide and communicate, but I need to develop more.
visit www.derekacorahforum.org for loads of info and stories plus help on ways to contact your guide etc.

I think the spirit guides are those small voices in your head like conscious if so then yes, and often they are right. Pay attention to the quiet quick thoughts you get.

Once in a while, I will receive vague messages from energies both human and inhuman within my dreams. It's hard for me to connect, since I am under a lot of stress. Many people have lost touch with their spiritual sides, I fear I am as well.
Every message is different...and sometimes they come to me in strange languages...
