No I definitely would not take it. In all honesty not just because of the date. Your Dr. might decide to give you a new drug that is on the market and you should get re-assessed. I know panic attacks are rotten and nothing worse than feeling a heart beat in your throat, the sweats etc. Medication can go bad and who knows how long the pharmacy had it prior to you or the expiry date. I realize that these kinds of meds cost a lot. I used to laugh and say if the price didn't depress you nothing would but I would not take the chance. If you want to e-mail me direct, please feel free to do so. Have you tried Effexor SR or other new medication? Hope you start feeling a bit better!

You should never take any medications that are outdated. Some may get stronger, some may loose effectiveness and only the drug companies know what the rest will do. If you need something go to your doctor and get the right thing to help you. Random taking of expired meds is not a smart thing to do and it won't help you get through whatever is going on with you. Please go see your doctor ASAP. Best wishes.

What should I avoid while taking sertraline?

Ask your doctor before taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for pain, arthritis, fever, or swelling. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac, indomethacin, meloxicam, and others. Using an NSAID with sertraline may cause you to bruise or bleed easily.
Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of sertraline. Do not take the liquid form of sertraline if you are taking disulfiram (Antabuse). Liquid sertraline may contain alcohol and you could have a severe reaction to the disulfiram.
This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

NO! And Zoloft wouldn't calm you down. It's an antidepressant not a tranquillizer! Drugs that are out dated may have changed chemically and could hurt you - not help you!

They won't hurt you if you take them, but they won't work - they do lose their effectiveness after time.

Even if they did work, they wouldn't help you - you only have one bottle - how much is that, a month, if that? For Zoloft to work, you have to take it every day for several MONTHS. Just go to the doc.

No. If you don't have enough money to buy new Zoloft pills you can switch to generic fluoxetine that is less expensive. Talk to your doctor first.

No, any medication can only have a shelf life of 2 years to my knowledge. The medications can start breaking down after that point which can be very dangerous if you take them.

Don't even risk it !
Get rid of the outdated medication and get some new meds .
Go to the ER now if you can't wait to see your Dr. in the morning.
