I think I had anxiety for longer than that but I wasnt depressed or had panic attacks. My last three years 18-21 I spend staying home, best years of my life something needs to be done.I dont have any friends anymore. I feel like crap. I had major panic attack today even going to Grocery store.I can't even stand at the red light I think everybody is looking at me.When stranger talks to me I just freeze like paralyzed, start shaking, trembling,my mind and heart racing, sweating,my mind goes blank and I just want to scream on the top of my lungs. I started avoiding social situations at all cost. I even feel panicky talking to my family or relatives. All day long bad thoughts running through my head. How can I beat this plz,any one ,because this is not a life this is hell, any info really appreciated.

Well at least you have a new friend....ME: (Argentox2@yahoo.com). I also suffered from depression and panic attacks and there is hope. You don´t have to stay home for the rest of your life. Psychiatric therapy helps and medication also helps (ask a psychiatric about Prozac or Cymbalta). Acupuncture also helps. The three things you have (anxiety, depression and panic attacks are caused by an unbalance in the brain neurotrasmiters. The spiritual explanation is that a spirit got attached to your aura and that is why you have these feelings of sadness, feeling like "getting crazy" or "die" etc. Once you treat the chemical unbalance these things will dissapear or at least diminish. Get help, and GOOD help. My panic attacks dissapeared after taking medication. Well I hope it helped. A big hug. Adriana

It seems like you really want to change your life 4 the better which is a start. Your social life can be improved by slowly going out and enjoying your young age. We all get nervous, I do, when people are looking at me, when I give presentations in front of a large crowd and etc my hands use to get really sweaty and I thought that everyone could literally hear my heart, but I noticed that it is normal and everyone feels that way and that we are all Just PEOPLE, no one is better than anyone. Just try to relax and keep that in the back of your mind when you feel like you are about to have a panic attack.
If you want, you can always go to counseling b/c They have have certain techniques that will reduce the amount and severity of your panic attacks and depression. Life brings good and bad days so just take it one day at a time. I would recommend trying to do an activity that you enjoy, for ex, swimming, pool, football, exercise, video games something that you know that you are at ease doing to get those endorphins pumping lol
Hope this helps!!!!

I was put on klonopin for the panic attacks but got addicted. I was told that I had Generalized Anxiety disorder. They tried me on at least 8 different antidepressants over a 10 year period and it made me manic, hyper, gave me insomnia. They told me those were just "side effects" and to try to get used to them. Finally, I got the correct diagnosis of Bipolar II which closely mimics anxiety disorders. The tip off is the fact that Bipolar II's usually can't tolerate antidepressants alone without the help a mood stabilizer. That's what kept throwing me into the manic phases. Once I was put on a mood stabilizer (lithium) and the doctor was treating me for the right disease, I got much better.

I feel for you! I had them for seven years, I ended up in a mental hospital because it became so bad, I would wake up at night screaming that I could not breath. Doctors tried all kind of medicine. Paxil brought my blood pressure very low, Zoloft was making me having night mares. I finally found the right one. for me it was klonopin (generic Clonazepam) and i had to put a question mark on my spiritual life. Got me a good Christian church the prayers, and the praising music helps drive away the fears that were living in me, This diseae even made me loose my job of sixteen years, was taking the best of me. I feel like a normal person again. Recommend you a book. " How to attack panic and anxiety " by Thomas L. Pedigo it helped me understand there is nothing to be ashamed of, the people with diabeties take insulin, and people with high blood pressure take meds. So i have a chemical imbalance in my brain, but it can be controlled. Check out this book web site http://win-edge.com
It was like a monster living inside of me, that would come up any time, and left me afraid and waiting for the next one. i stayed away from friends and family and was afraid to die.
My prayers are with you, please never turn to alcohol or illegal drugs which a lot of people with anxiety do. It will just mascarade the disease and make you even worse later. Your life is precious,
you were created with a beautiful purpose. seek help now.
IT DOES NOT GOES AWAY ON HIS OWN, dont let this run your life.

I too have this same type of anxiety attacks, it is pure hell, I won't even go shopping unless it's in the middle of the night, when family or friends visits( 3-4or more) I all but lose it,dining out is out of the question. I have told Drs about it, oh well, as of yet no meds, but I have trained my dog to 'remove' me when things start going bad, it is a real life saver at times, he will either get between me and my visitors or demand to go out, this helps me a lot. I know how you feel, just don't know how to really deal with it except for my dog who is now a "service dog' (the american disablities act now recongnize service dogs for the mentally ill)consider getting yourself a furry friend.

First off breathe. I don't suffer anxiety attacks to your severity, but I always find breatheing helps relieve my nervousness a lot. Also I know its horrible to suggest but seeing your doctor about maybe trying a medication to see if it would help might be in your best interest. It's not fun to feel the way you're feeling, but its a lot easier to risk taking medication and seeing if they work. Granted the first, second, even third option might not help completely, but it does eventually make things a little easier to cope with. Find a doctor you can talk to and trust to help step you through things as slow/fast as you need.

Life can be hard, and feeling the way you do just makes it harder.

I work at a mental health clinic and I have worked with people with Agoraphobia (with symptoms like you are experiencing). I practice with them by taking them out in the community little steps at a time, in addition to them taking medication and receiving talk therapy.

I agree with the first commenter. What you need to do is contact a mental health clinic. They'll ask you lots of questions on your history, family, symptoms, etc. Its okay to feel anxious while you are there. We are used to dealing with it, so there is no need to feel ashamed. They'll help you find the help you need. They may recommend talking to a psychiatrist to prescribe meds and they might also suggest a counselor or therapist. Once you get started, it won't be as scary. You might actually feel relieved when its time for your appointments.

You definitely are not alone in feeling like this. There are so many people out there like you. I hope this gave you a better idea of what to expect if you seek help. :)

Yo Dread --

You can overcome this situation through the use of prescription meds. If you want to know how, email me and I'll tell you exactly what meds to take. I know more about pharmacology than most physicians. It's your choice.
