After I have had time away from my ex it is always so great to see her again, but then she starts getting all clingy and emotional, smothering me. She starts lying and I just end it and walk away again. But she is always planning and waiting for me to come back. She always buys me stuff trying to compensate and I don't like gifts because I know it represents her hard work and time. Anyone else had a similar situation.

I have learned the hard way that exes are exes for a reason. Some people grow and change, yes, but the basic personality remains the same. If you had been compatible with the basic personality, you probably would not have split to begin with. Besides...why waste time with someone who lies and tries to buy your affections? Sounds a bit shallow to me. I may be wrong....

I have gone back to my ex many times. Neither of us were ready for a serious relationship and just kept hurting each other. Now we are together and going strong.

I had an on-again-off-again thing for 4 years... that is just miserable drama and I think no good can come of it. My new rule: one shot, and when it's over, it's over, don't break up unless you mean it.

um... i was sort of more being helped with everything so it was like 'i need him'

all i can say is- remove the chain and run free!

guilt is a heavy burden to carry and will cast a shadow over your 'happiness' with her. She is trying to 'keep' you.

*nobody 'owns' anybody
