how do you show the egg experiment with vinigar and toothpaste do you boil the egg first?

I've heard of soaking a raw egg in vinegar so the shell gets soft enough to put the egg into a bottle... but I've never heard of an experiment involving and egg and toothpaste.

i heard if u do dat tha shell will get soft but i think u should boil the egg first
