WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! No man should have the right to throw acid on some girl for wearing a mini skirt let alone tell them what to wear in the first place. I hope these men face a long and hard punishment for what there doing cause this isn't even a joke we are talking about peoples lives here! Anyways I think this happened in Pakistan or India right?

Personally they may like girls not wearing short skirts. But, it appears that their religion has a dress code for women, which enjoins them not to show off their legs and faces to the strangers. As a matter of facts, they have a strict dress code for men even. The men's attire should be such as to cover their frontal and rear portions of the body.

Because the men will get lots of short skirt girls in Jannat i.e. heaven. If a Muslim converts/kills even one non Muslim (Kafir), then the Muslim is assured of all services from 2 doz. virgins, and can have them all for himself. Therefore there is no sufficient incentive for a Muslim man to look at short skirts in this world. As regards short skirted girls of other religions, anyway they are kafirs - no need to respect them.

Muslims (read Muslim men) will prefer only the girls from other religions wearing short skirts and not their own. It is not allowed in Islam for girls to wear short skirts but it is allowed for Muslim men to lech at other girls wearing short dresses!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a respectable dress code in Islam, and it's followed by devout Muslims, both men and women.
I don't think a girl who wears short skirts sends a positive message to men who are seeking wives, and mothers of their children...you decide on that one!

Because Islam give respect to Women. Now you will ask are you telling me women you wear shorts skirts are not respectful. Well tell me one thing would be like your mom, grandmom to wear those things and work on the streets?

each religion has a set of traditions to be followed - about dress, food, festivals, greeting others etc. that is, the scriptures of religions guide people about their way of life that would be most suitable for the upliftment of the people who follow that religion. by following it the society would be benefitted. but unfortunately, people interpret the scriptures with their own limited knowledge and arrive at faulty conclusions. hence, when in doubt, we must approach a knowledgeable religious head and follow his instructions that would bring peace and happiness to everybody.
girls wearing short skirts may send out wrong signals to others or rather, others may misconstrue their intention of wearing such a dress and it may lead to undue sexual provocation and harm to the girl. in order to protect the girl, certain norms are laid. it is individual decision to wear what one likes, but be well aware of the consequences.

It is against who we are. We are not allowed to show our legs. That is also why we cover our faces and full body. It's just who we are. Also, why reveal all that?? I believe that is disrespect to yourself. Wearing short skirts is not attractive...especially when they are above the knees!
