Opinions on staining a porch w/ 3 stairs BLACK for a pale yellow w/ white trim home-exterior accents blk iron.

black will show foot prints and dust.

I wouldn't stain it black. I would consider a medium oak stain so the black iron accents will stand out. This will also make the pale yellow stand out better. If you don't like oak, try a deep red color.

as a painting contractor i would advise against black, as previously noted it will show dirt and rain spots along with anything else that may accumulate on it, also black is going to sun fade twice as fast as most other colors, you would have to re stain yearly to keep it looking good.
