I simply want to know what the Liberal platform is in this election, and my only request is that you don't use attacks on W. or Mark Foley as the basis for your answer. I ask this because without those two talking points, I don't hear much from any of the Liberals that are running for office.

This is sad, one entire day, and I only get ONE Liberal to answer me? I guess those are the only two talking points that most of you have to go off of.

well... first off... by liberals, I'm assuming you mean democrats... if not, this won't be correct...

but basically, it has a focus on setting deadlines for Iraq and forming a realistic timetable (by working with generals) to handover power... probably take at least two more years... (Bush is now starting to say these exact same things himself, after refusing to for 3 years)

also a focus on education and poverty.... they go hand in hand... different people have different ideas about how to do this, so it really depends on which democrat you talk to... but many discuss further tweaking of NCLB to make it a much better program... and working to give more loans (with lower rates) and grants... make it easier for people to go to school

also, probably raising taxes on the wealthy, with Bush's cuts to investment taxes, many wealthy individuals are paying almost the same tax rate as many middle class individuals... yet not repealing the middle class tax cut... pelosi said this, as have others...

and doing something about the healthcare crisis... and plans are widely varied on this as well... ranging from national healthcare by Edwards, to smaller steps like cost caps and much more (which I'm not personally a big fan of)

and getting spending down to more responsible levels and working on the deficit and debt...
