Most animal-related facilities have a rule that volunteers must be 16 or older (some even ask for 18+) for safety and insurance reasons.

I would suggest something like a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. It can be very rewarding and it would make for a touching essay.

Heck The Election are coming up...Have Her go to your favorite candidate and offer her service's....They have... a little known thing... they need young people to help with errands, passing out flyer's and a lot of stuff they need..Also They have a budget that will allow her to make a Little extra cash for herself...She could be the next President who knows!!! She will be exposed to people in Government...She may like it or maybe not...It is a chance to see how thing's work...I donate allot of stuff to the ASPCA.. time and money...I feel good about it ..They have a lot of people that do the same and they can all ways use more...But this is an opportunity for her to experience other things..She can feel independent with a good cause...At 15 she can feel that she makes a difference...Good Luck...Plus she will make some cash on her own...It will make her feel wonderful!!!! I did my volunteer work with the girl guides, but I know that a lot of humane societies may allow her to volunteer there.
But ask around, sometimes theres a 16 and up rule.
Oh and also talk to training facilities, some times they'll allow people to help out.
Good luck, hope this helps,

Plus my daughter knew some sign language so she signed the words which was perfect for about 3 of the residences.

Animal Rescue groups are a great way to get volunteer work. Since they are funded only by donations, they welcome all the volunteers they need for walking, feeding, bathing, cleaning kennels. GOOD LUCK and I hope she has fun!!!!
