play, play, play.......the angles, the correct pressure to use, the 'english' of the ball.... are all learned behaviors......you just gotta play it out, man....but, if you love it, you'll play anyway.
confidence is everything.....practice will give you that. good luck and hope to see you play on tv one day.

If there is such a thing as a "shortcut" to improving at pool, it's this: Get lessons from a certified instructor. No website, book, video, or well-meaning friend can do for your game in a year what a quality instructor can do in a few short lessons. There is so much misinformation out there regarding pool instruction. There is some good supplemental material available out there. George Fels is probably my favorite pool author. Robert Byrne is also very good. Go to the BCA website to find a quality, certified instructor in your area. Best of luck. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

Feel it out yourself. Taking lessons takes too much time. Eat before you play and drink a lot of caffeine. This will give you a quick way to playing better. If you want to take this theory to the extreme, do some speed or cocaine and your concentration and focus will be unreal!

The fastest way is to play better players along with practice but it took me 20 years to play at pro level.

practice, & then practice some more,if you know a really good shooter, ask him to give you some tips. any good one should be happy to help you out. I ran a bar for 23 yrs. & had several excelent players & they always did that.
