What a WONDERFUL explanation of how every single (good and bad) experience (ingredient) in our lives contributes to the final tasty product!
Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake"
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

This reminds me of a story I heard at my temple!!

There is a high-powered king-like person. He is in much control throughout his country, but he is unknowing of the way God works. One day, his assistant (for lack of better word) was being careless with a knife, and accidentally loped off one of the king's fingers. Naturally, the king was furious and sent his assistant to jail. Many days later, the king was walking through the forest near his kingdom, when he was approaced by some people in a cult (again, for lack of better term). They had been looking for a human sacrifice for a while, and he had literally just stumbled into them. As they were preparing to kill him, someone noticed he was missing a finger. " We cannot offer God an incomplete man!" Said one of the cult-members. So they allowed the king to return to his kingdom.

Immediatly, the king freed his assistant from the cell. The king apologized repeatedly, and the assistant was not at all furious. When the king inquired as to the assistant's lack of suprise towards the nice outcome of the event, the assistant just replied "Everything that happens, happens for good." Although the king had lost a finger, his life had been spared.

I found that very inspiring when I saw it in the form of a play. Your story just
sort-of reminded me of it. Peace my friend.

I have to agree that God gave us the eggs and the flour, but I don't believe God will bake our cake for us. It's up to you, either learn to bake or go hungry, you have the freedom of choice.

God does not put Evil on anyone.

The bible says that Jesus does what the father does.

John 5:19
Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

It's the Devil that puts Evil (Bad things) on us!

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

God does not promote, prescribe, instigate, assign or sponser bad things upon us!

Nowhere in the bible does Jesus do anything but good to His people.

He tells us in the Lords prayer that we should pray;

"Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil"

That is very cute!

Thank you for sharing it with us; I'll have to read that to my daughter.

Regardless of whether we believe the challenges we face to be god's will, or merely a fact of nature, it does help to see that each incident is part of what makes us who we are.

I think it's a bunch of crap. This isn't a "recipe", this is hate:

Exodus 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. After watching my nephew being born, I realized that women are definitely the tougher gender, given all the crap we go through.
