I was in Burma and ate some meat in clear(ish) soup. Turns out it was monkey. When I saw the monkey tied up on a spit cooking over the fire, it looked like a burnt baby.
I was physically and emotionally ill for a long time.

Sushi is as exotic as I've gotten to be quite honest, but I live in Texas, and have seen people eat goat, rattle snake, rabbit, turtle and stuff like that it's pretty common I guess. They eat it like it's no big deal. I get pretty squeamish. So I defiantly wouldn't be a good candidate for worm eating.

I like to torture, er, widen, my family's horizon's by trying new and different things often. Usually these things are very bad. But that doesn't stop us from trying the next strange food we happen upon. The last thing we tried was Grass Jelly Drink. Here is one person's review of it and I have to say I agree. (warning- there is a bad word used on this page)

The previous thing we tried was a jar of cactus strips, nopalitos. I put it in a taco casserole and they were pretty good. I thought they had a very mild green olive flavor when eaten plain and almost no discernable flavor in the casserole.

Ate swan once in Thailand -- about 30 years ago.
It was in the country ... north of Bangkok.
They had a glass "oven" with what looked like a cooked duck.
So we pointed to it and asked for it thinking it was duck.
It was when we had to pay for it that we discovered we had eaten swan ... thanks to the mime done by the people ... to explain that it was swan not duck.
Also eaten reindeer in Finland and horse in France.
Not that exotic but it is a start. Oh. Ostrich too. That was in Texas.

I have eaten turtle soup, which is excellent and tastes like a rich chicken soup, alligator sausage, emu, kangaroo, caribou, and cow brains before. That last one is kind of nasty.
