Take white frosting and put it down as teh base coat, then draw a red dog head shape on top. Yuor you might do the dog head in Red Hot Candys

Red paw print will be cute and easy. Use red velvet cake, white icing, then when icing dries go back and make the red paw print. You could cut out a stencil of the paw print to make it easier. Food color paste is redder than drops (Hoby Loby, etc.)
