Well, I have a pretty smart and sweet 8 month old daughter lol. All I did while I was pregnant was eat healthy. Lots of vegetables, lots of fiber, drank lots of water. I had only one caffeinated beverage per day. I didn't eat a lot of sugar, no soda or anything. Only natural sugars, that are found in fruit and such. Beans/legumes are good for you. Fish is good for you, but there are warnings about only having 6 ounces a week of tuna and other fish that can sometimes have high levels of mercury. Make sure you take a good prenatal vitamin every day as directed. And an extra tip about those vitamins... if the directions tell you to take two pills once a day or something like that, don't take them both at once! Your body will not absorb all those vitamins at once, so it is better to take on in the morning and one in the afternoon. Otherwise you're just wasting the nutrition! Good luck!

Dear Madam, Child is gift of God. What ever you eat and drink will not effect to get brainy and intelligent child. If you are believe God, pray every three time minimum 5 minuts (morning, afternoon, evening) to Almighty God. I am sure that you will get brainy and intelligent child. You have to get peace mind. Do not have any worries in your pregenacy period. You try from today and have peace mind and always happy with your husband and parents. You get what you wish and pray.
Normal food is enough for you. Medical check-up must every month. Well wisher

Do not take drugs, don't drink alcohol, and eat VERY healthy. While you're pregnant, eat like you're on a health food diet, but don't forget that fats are essential for a baby's development. Saturated fats from junk food are harmful, however. This ensures that your baby will be healthy at birth, and reduce the risk of birth defects.
Secondly, do NOT pressure your child to watch "brainy baby" videos and plague them with puzzles. Allow your child time to play, supply them with many toys, and allow them be creative. Creativity and learning by experience is a better teacher than videos. . (This was recently discovered by a group of scientists studying children. I actually read it on yahoo news, to tell the truth) When you are teaching them, however, teach it in a fun way. Don't lecture, but instead make learning things like colors and numbers and animal a game. Give them a lot of positive reinforcement if they get things right. If they know learning is good, they'll be more eager to learn next time.
Lastly, promote a healthy diet to your child, expose them to reading and writing and art as self-expression, and build a good relationship with them. Let them have plenty of sleep as well, as most development of the brain and body occur during sleep.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

the important thing is what your baby will eat - formula lowers the iq, human milk raises the iq - the difference is HUGE! in addition, children's nerve cells only form connections when a child is held, so the child should be held on demand for about the first year. lastly, when a child is apart from her mother, her brain floods with stress hormones, and this impairs learning.

so, the way to have a brainy child is 1) good genetics and 2) breastfeed on demand and 3)sleep with your baby 4)hold your baby everytime she wants you to, 5) get a sling to help with that and 6) do not use substitute caregivers, 7)read to your child, 8)talk to your child, teaching her a huge vocabulary and complex sentence structure, 9) expose her to lots of wonderful experiences with you at her side.

that'll do it. what you eat is immaterial.

For having a brainy child, you should eat Newton's Principia along with Darwin's Evolutionary Soup. May doctors gave you a brilliant child. If the recipe worked you should name the child: Newtonian Darwin.

Work on making a healthy baby first and your chances of having a "brainy" child will increase dramatically. Genetics have something to do with it, but then again I've known some pretty smart parents whose children were as dumb as stumps.

Spend a lot of time with it after its born. Study with it, read to it every day, show curiosity at everything. When they get to the question stage, be prepared to answer all of them. When you tell it not to do something, tell it WHY. Teach it to THINK. "What did you do wrong that time?" "What is the next step?" "If this is here and that's here, what goes here?" Push the kid to think. If you have to set it down in front of the TV, make sure its an educational show. its babysitters and outside influences should be curious and inventive people who at least want to learn along with it.

There's no proven, easy way to have a smart kid. You need to be patient, and spend a ton of time with the kid getting it on the right track, and if you aren't, it won't be. Knowledge and how to use it supercedes the womb.

Someone we talked to wanted kids, my partner grilled her on WHY(we don;t want them). She said "Well, it could grow up to cure cancer or invent a new clean energy source and win the Nobel Prize!"
My partner's response was "It's statistically more likely to grow up a criminal or a serial killer. Why don't YOU do these things instead of just leaving the world with an IOU."

You need to make yourself smarter first.

It has nothing to do with what you eat while you are pregnant. You should be more concerned with having a healthy child. Eat right and don't smoke/drink/do drugs, etc.

After your child is born pay lots of attention to your child, always talk to your child, and start teaching your child new things as soon as you can. Children at young ages are like sponges and will learn lots of stuff if you teach it in a fun way.
