I have a dell dimension desktop and recently out of nowhere I went to turn on my computer and Windows attempts to load but then stops and restarts again. I attempted to use the Setup CD that came with my computer, and I went into the Repair option. It prompted me to type the administrator password, so I just hit ENTER and it said that the password is not valid. I have no idea what else to do besides reinstall Windows but then I will lose everything. Any Ideas???

Maybe try hitting F8 while the computer is starting up to boot in safe mode, run selective startup and see if you can figure out what process is causing the problem.

P.S. Firefox / Mozilla 2 RULES

Also, if worst come to worst, you can always get your data off the machine by booting off a memory key or live CD with something like Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux and reinstalling Windows.

You will need the administrator password to use the repair. You can always reinstall your operating system without it though. Unfortunately, you will lose all of your data.
You can reset your windows administrator password using a linux based utility such as:
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
Follow the instructions and boot from the CD you create and you can reset it. Don't try to change it, just reset it to * which is nothing.
